The kicking horse hostel is the cutest little place you could ever want to stay. It is an older building with lots of character and has a very homey feel, which is only added to by the lovely tonya who runs the hostel. It has a great location and everybody is incredibly friendly. Expect to want to spend all your... More

I was staying in town and heard this was a good place to meet people. Upon arriving i felt like this was the place i needed to be staying at and proceeded to book the rest of my time there. Very relaxed vibe, people are very open to conversation, there is a camp fire which has been a great way... More

I stayed 2 nights at the hostel, not having any plans for the weekend or any expectations. I ended up spending all of my free time in the evenings there because I was having so much fun around the campfire with the other guests. The hostel is an older building, but it's clean and there is a fully functional kitchen... More

we stayed just one night at the kicking horse hostel and we loved it. Tanya is amazing, an entertainer, helpful and efficient. I have allergies to cat fur (there are a few kicking about) so i asked if the room could be cleaned, we left for 1h (beer stop!) and when we came back everything had been washed, vacuumed and... This hostel was such a super find! From the giant kitchen and awesome book exchange section, to the free ear plugs and SUPER friendly owner- I would go back in a second. The trains couldn't have bothered me any less and the fact that this hostel is fostering kittens (they live away from the guests, don't worry about allergies) makes... More

This hostel is under new management...and it's wonderful! Tanya helped make the stay one to remember. It's important to note that the building is old, and is next to a very loud railroad. Having said that I didn't need the free earplugs she offered to have a solid sleep. There are not very many beds, so it is not likely... More

Tanya is the brilliant new manager at Kicking Horse and she will be what makes it a must stop on the Trans Canada Highway. From the moment we stepped out of our car she welcomed us with open arms, sat talking with us both nights we were there and was generally great! We stayed in the private room which is... More
