Blown away by the caliber of accommodations, the beauty of the surroundings, and the quality of the skiing! The Lodge is very comfortable, with all the modern conveniences, minus phone and internet. Really allows guests to "unplug"! There is terrain for every level of skier, from gentle novice slopes to technical couloirs. Relaxing with a wood fired sauna and hot... More

I had a wonderful week at Talus Lodge. The views were absolutely incredible and Chris tailored the hikes to accommodate our whole group. We are so fortunate to have such a special location to visit and relax. Hazel

We had first class luxury in a lodge that's a half hour helicopter ride from Canmore. The food and lodging were first rate. After a day's hike in the most spectacular scenery imaginable, we dined on food that could take its place beside any upscale restaurant. Chris Espinel, the owner-host is personable, knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. We... More

We had an amazing three days and nights at Talus Lodge. Greeted on arrival by helicopter with coffee, muffins and the fixings to pack lunch - and a great hike to introduce us to the area. Greta views despite the light rain with bonus rainbows. The following 2 days were the best hiking we have had - one day with... More

My experience is coloured, and coloured vividly, by the golden larch we enjoyed Sept. 19-22/14. We couldn't have hit the weather better, with 2 sunny, warm, calm days on the 2 full-hike days. And the larch were within days of reaching their peak, so that they shone in the sunlight and made every photo a masterpiece of nature. The first... More

This experience is unforgettable! The exciting flight via helicopter to the lodge, the friendly welcome from staff, the comfortable and clean rooms, the amazing delicious gourmet meals....not to forget the absolutely breathtaking hikes in the beautiful area are all so worth it! Also, the very friendly and fun atmosphere we had enjoyed with the other guests as we hiked and... More

We have not been able to stop talking about our time at Talus Lodge since our return back to the real world. We had three glorious days of hiking from Aug 22-25/14. Our photos can't possibly do the experience justice. Upon arrival via helicopter (definitely one of the hi-lights that weekend), we were greeted with hot coffee and muffins. After... More

We stayed at Talus for a week in early August and it was quite simply fabulous. I'm almost don't want to write this review as I don't want everyone to find out about this very special place! Chris is an excellent host and guide, and readily shares his significant knowledge of the local flora, fauna and geology. Kieran and Stephanie... More

To get out into the wild wilderness of the Canadian Rockies, this place is hard to beat. While it does not have the history of Assiniboine or Lake O'hara, it does not have the heavy traffic either making for a better sense of being out in the untouched wilderness. The lodge staff and food are as good as it gets... More

Our Hiking group just returned from 4 nights with Chris and his incredible staff at Talus.it is hard to describe how wonderful this place is. It was my third "lodge trip" and now it is my favourite place to go. The scenery... spectacular...the hiking diverse and never boring and for all levels of hiking. The service and food are out...
