Great location, renovated rooms, beautifully done, all staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again. A full hot breakfast was very good. The historic enlarged photographs through out the hotel, explained the history of the area and hotel.

The Hume is a hotel to visit. It is very rich in history and we'll worth a visit. The staff is wonderful and the food is delicious and well presented. Have stayed here in recent years but not this time. The room we got was amazing like taking a BIG step back in time. Clean and comfortable. So cool!

When we go to nelson the only place we stay is the Hume. The staff are absolutely amazing Julie at the front desk is great. The pub had great food and everything you need is in the hotel or very close by. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends or family. And hot breakfast in the... More

Everything at the Hume was fine: the ambiance of an old, historic hotel; the rooms (because we extended our stay, we had to move from one of the renovated rooms to the unrenovated, or "heritage" rooms); a great breakfast actually served and not a drab buffet; the location--in the middle of town, just a walk to anywhere. But the staff... More

I have been a regular at Prestige Lakeside and the Best Western Baker St hotels for years, but have switched permanently to The Hume. This includes work trips and personal trips. This hotel has the best location in town, has great value and the best charm, especially if you love history and old architecture. I think that many people do... More

We stayed in one of the newly renovated fourth floor rooms. The room was lovely, and the bed was amazing (almost as good as being at home!). The brand new AC unit had a fan option, and ran very quietly. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and went out of their way to give us directions and take care of... More

We were in a great re-furbished room in this beautiful building. There was a lift to take us up to the 3rd floor. The room was stylish but not overdone and the bathroom was great. Fridge/phone etc. It was very quiet, at the back of the hotel, but even so, there was a set of foam earplugs just in case... More

Thanks for such a detailed description. We are happy to hear that you were satisfied with everything. You are right about our parking, it is very limited. It is actually only 14 spots for a 45 room hotel that fill up on a first come first serve basis. Back in 1898, they didn't make room for a lot of cars,... More

Our room at the Hume was fantastic. We got a beautifully renovated room which had essentially 2 bedrooms separated by a bathroom. This spacious layout gave us the perfect amount of separation between parents and kids. We visited during a bit of a heat wave, so the super quiet ceiling-mounted air conditioning units above each bed were delightful. We also... More

You are right, the 2nd floor has not yet been renovated but we will tackle it this coming October. We will be renovating the six guest rooms on this floor but we will see the addition of our brand new spa. We can't wait to see it come to fruition and believe it will greatly enhance the guest experience. Thanks... More

Made the trip from Radium to Nelson via the ferry, WOW! Arrived at the Hume and was duly impressed! Our suite was gorgeous, two separate beds, separated by the washroom (bonus), the food in the hotel was delish, and the staff were wonderful. Wish we had stayed for 2 nights!

Many of our guests are very happy with what we call 'Split Rooms'. It is where the bathroom separates each of the queen beds in the room. Each bed has its own flatscreen TV so it creates some privacy for families, couples or single travelers. If anybody is interested in booking one of these rooms, make sure you call in... More
