Three of us stayed in a private room on the main floor which was more than adequate for our pre-trip excursion to Whitewater Ski Area and then on to Ymir Lodge for a week of backcountry skiing. The kitchen downstairs is great for cooking you own meals, although fridge space can be sparse (at least during our visit). Excellent staff... More

we stayed here for one night while in Nelson heading into Kokanee Glacier. The staff were nice and helpful. The location is great, walking distance to food, breakfast at the Best Western next door was convenient. Since its a hostel the bathrooms and showers are shared. You could hear people in the hallways at night. Ok for one or two... More

Nice and clean hostel with a very good kitchen. Unfortunately there is a few things that make the score go down. The lack of drinking glasses, no hooks in the room to put towels our clothes is enjoying. No place to dry things after skiing... The bad internet (the router is not the newest) makes it really hard to plan... More

I came to this hostel for firts time last summer with no expectations and I was impressed by how clean an neat it was. After a decade of backpacking I don't like 8 beds dorms anymore but this was was an exception because it was spacious, clean and comfortable. I came back today and everything remains the same. I really... More

Booked 5 nights at the Dancing Bear Inn and had a wonderful experience, it being my first hostel stay! Super clean and quiet, felt very safe and secure, everyone is very kind and very respectful. Beds were super comfy and warm, and free parking at back was an awesome perk. People were amazing, so many travelers from all over the... More

The hostel is a charming older building with good access to downtown. We stayed in a private room on the second floor, and everything was in good order and pretty clean. Very cute patio out back. When we checked into our room, it was stifling hot and the windows only opened a bit at the bottom, with no latch to... More

Great hotel/hostel hybrid therefore caters to a wide range of folks. Seemed cooler this summer as the AC seems to have been upgraded. Lucky enough to hit a free nibbles and wine art show the night we stayed. Clean, good bathrooms, reasonable parking at the back. Nice atmosphere in the communal areas.

I stayed here during a trip in February and had a great time! The location can't be beat, and as a first time visitor to Nelson I greatly enjoyed having the entire town at the doorstep of the hostel. There were plenty of bathrooms available, and I didn't spot a speck of dust during the entire visit. The rooms were... More

lovely place with friendly staffs. I had an unexpected trip to Nelson and looking for an accommodation only for a night. as soon as I walked in I felt very comfortable in the place and staff were really nice and helpful too. I would definitely go back there again if I go to Nelson.

We never thought to stay at a Hostel until faced with some over priced low season rates at the local hotels and motels. Booked in for 1 night and ended up staying 4. Fun and friendly staff. Very comfy and roomy common area on the main floor with fireplace. Lots of bathrooms and showers and a great commercial kitchen on... More
