Booked 5 nights at the Dancing Bear Inn and had a wonderful experience, it being my first hostel stay! Super clean and quiet, felt very safe and secure, everyone is very kind and very respectful. Beds were super comfy and warm, and free parking at back was an awesome perk. People were amazing, so many travelers from all over the... More

The hostel is a charming older building with good access to downtown. We stayed in a private room on the second floor, and everything was in good order and pretty clean. Very cute patio out back. When we checked into our room, it was stifling hot and the windows only opened a bit at the bottom, with no latch to... More

Great hotel/hostel hybrid therefore caters to a wide range of folks. Seemed cooler this summer as the AC seems to have been upgraded. Lucky enough to hit a free nibbles and wine art show the night we stayed. Clean, good bathrooms, reasonable parking at the back. Nice atmosphere in the communal areas.

I stayed here during a trip in February and had a great time! The location can't be beat, and as a first time visitor to Nelson I greatly enjoyed having the entire town at the doorstep of the hostel. There were plenty of bathrooms available, and I didn't spot a speck of dust during the entire visit. The rooms were... More

lovely place with friendly staffs. I had an unexpected trip to Nelson and looking for an accommodation only for a night. as soon as I walked in I felt very comfortable in the place and staff were really nice and helpful too. I would definitely go back there again if I go to Nelson.

We never thought to stay at a Hostel until faced with some over priced low season rates at the local hotels and motels. Booked in for 1 night and ended up staying 4. Fun and friendly staff. Very comfy and roomy common area on the main floor with fireplace. Lots of bathrooms and showers and a great commercial kitchen on... More

This hostel is beautifully decorated and very clean. There are lots of bathroom facilities available, and there was also a sink in our private room which I found to be a great addition. The beds were comfortable with nice warm blankets which is a rarity in hostels! It was quite windy the night that we stayed and the wind was... More

I went here for a work ski trip, with a bunch of rowdy skiers and snowboarders. We practically took over the whole hostel and stayed there 3 nights. Leaving our cans and pizza boxes everywhere we set put to ski and can back to a clean beautiful place to stay!! They were very friendly and helpful. Especially patient with us... More

This charming and cozy little hostel on the far end of Nelson's main street is an ideal place to spend a few days summer or winter. I came up here to do some skiing and was just as pleased with the Dancing Bear as I was with WH20. Great town, great people and really great restaurants. The rooms where quite... More

I come in from my place outside town by bus to enjoy a movie night or event in Nelson once or twice a month. I walk in the front door and it's like my living room with benefits; instant, interesting people from all over the world, great accommodations in the dorm, clear and well-kept ground rules for respecting everyone, cleanliness,...
