We stayed at this hotel in Nelson in August 2014. The grounds were well kept, the rooms were very clean but dated. There is access across the road to a beach, and kayak rentals at the hotel. There was a daily continental breakfast, which was exceptional. There was also an area that guests could BBQ if they desired. Staff was... More

To Whom it May Concern:) Going through very positive and warm Tripadviser reviews, we decided to stay in Kokanee Glacier Resort. Actually, Kokanee exceeded our picky team expectations. Staying in Kokanee Glacier you will not see any DownTown strangers. Hotel has very good parking lot and kids playground. Staying in resort, you will be in the middle of the Nelson... More

Nice place to spend a long weekend or an entire late spring/summer/early fall week!! The view of the lake is amazing from the hill where the motel is located. Older building and furnishing but everything is kept clean inside and outside. Short drive to the city but farther away from the downtown.

Shaun and Amanda couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful! My husband and sister and I shared a suite for four nights in September 2014, and had a wonderful stay. The suite was spacious and quiet, with comfortable beds, an efficient and well-stocked kitchen, and a great view of the lake. Shaun provided kayaks and helped us carry them down... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2014. Great experience! The owners were lovely, the view - amazing, and the hotel had every feature we were looking for: Pet-friendly, kitchenette, a/c... They truly have thought of everything. We will be returning every summer.

We were driving back into Nelson after no luck with vacancy in any of the campgrounds. We saw this beautiful little gem up on the hill. We missed seeing the no vacancy sign, and were luck enough to find out they just had a cancellation. We fell in love with the place from here on. The owners are both very... More

We've been visiting this place for the last seven years. The motel is very clean and updated, the stuff and owners are very friendly and acomodating, the location is very convenient, close to everything. Can't wait till next year to have my morning coffee in the patio above the lake!

My family and I have always enjoyed staying here. We have booked regular summer weekend visits for several years . We really enjoy the piece and serenity of the beautiful lake and mountain surroundings. I always find the staff to be friendly and helpful. I also enjoy the easy access to the lake and use of the Kayaks . We... More

I booked this because it was rated #1 on this site and was reasonably priced. When we arrived, my wife and I viewed the place and wanted to leave. Our initial impression was not good. We'd already paid for the night, so we stayed. It is NOT a resort....more like an 'older' motel. It's probably better for families with children,... More

Hello Pompey2, Thank you for your review as you have brought up a few good tips for people looking to book a trip to Nelson or anywhere else. When a property is rated number 1 on a travel review site this does not mean that it will posses the specific needs of each individual. It simply means that a very... More

Very friendly, very clean, quiet, affordable family run accommodations. Pleasant staff at free breakfast, and owners showed care and attention. Pet friendly, children friendly, beautiful grounds. Wasn't sure how to get to beach area and a bit sketchy crossing the highway with children and dog. Nice playground on property. Would stay there again.
