We were there for one night in September on a stopover on our way to Canmore, and was a little nervous due to a couple negative reviews for this hotel. We stayed in the "Selkirk" building (both buildings have a pool and hot tub, but the Selkirk building has the Denny's, which is our favorite restaurant). I asked about there... more

This hotel has two buildings, the Monashee and the Selkirk (where Denny's is). I wonder if the reviews differ between buildings? We were in the Monashee, upstairs. There is no lift to the upper floor, so if you have heavy bags you will struggle. The rooms were spacious, clean, not ultra-modern but not too dated. Beds were comfortable. Towels were... more

Only stayed 1 night. Got in late and left early. rooms very dated and not clean at all. Desperately needs some money invested into it. Had corner room very close to where the denny's staff and guests smoked - very inconsiderate group of people. Called frontdesk twice to complain - nothing was done. Wouldn't recommend a stay here more

Rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade... Our room was musty, the a/c barely worked, the sink leaked...I politely told the front desk manager of the leaky sink the next morning...her response was, "We don't usually compensate for complaints like that." Had to tell her I wasn't complaining, simply letting her know...she then put my invoice on the counter,... more

Thank you for your feedback, I have followed up with the front desk staff and we are using this feedback as a training tool for the future.

The good ! Location, Room size The Bad ! Everything is getting passed it sale by date All this place needs is some money spent on it and some elbow grease. I'm sorry I'm very disappointed!! The room I had was dirty and the bedding smelled of sweat! The Denny's seemed to be even worse! 45 min wait for food and in the morning no one seemed to be there to greet incoming customers let alone seat and serve anyone! Such a disappointment for a Sandman! I've stayed at others that... more

Thank you for the feedback, we were able to connect and have addressed the issues you encountered. We strive for constant excellence in housekeeping but do have the odd error. Denny's management has also been made aware of the situation and have followed up internally.

After the lodge at Revelstoke was not going to be ready, we were forced to find a room for three nights. It was only three weeks before our arrivial so a lot of places were booked. With the bad reviews, we were reluctant to stay at the Sandman but didn't have a lot of choices. I am glad we went... more

If this hotel/motel was charging half the price then this review would be more favorable but for the money (in all my years of international travel) this place is an out and out rip off. My room smelled of curry and I couldn't get rid of it. The kitchen was small and horribly out of date. Service was spotty. The... more

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room was nice, but the hot water system in the hotel is too small. After coming home from skiing the hotel ran out of hot water and after waiting for quite a while I had to take a cold shower! I certainly expect more from a hotel that cost... more

We unfortunately had part of our hot water system fail and due to our remote location there was delay in receiving the part to repair. During this period our system in one building had a slower recovery time during peak periods resulting in some guest experiencing less than hot water for a limited time. This was unfortunate and we were...

Drove from Calgary to Revelstoke so we could sightsee in the Mountains. This hotel was a nice hotel, with friendly staff and clean rooms. ample parking, and many rooms. I would stay here again, however nothing really stood out, it was an average stay. Nothing wrong with that. :-) more
