Yes as the other reviewers it is a little dated. But I don't think that takes away from the wonderful experience. The whole place is very well maintained especially the gardens and the Ghost Town. We will definitely stay there again. The only negative is, when it's hot, there is no air conditioning, but it cools off at night.

We booked this hotel in advance and no where did it state that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. This might not be a problem during average weather but this July was brutally hot. We were forced to leave our patio door open with only a screen to separate us from ?? There is a fan but not much help when... More

A few years back my husband and I stopped at this hotel for a night on our way through the Rocky Mountains. Since then it has become a yearly visit - staying for a week at a time. The hotel is clean, the staff is extremely friendly and the scenery is beautiful. When the sun is shining there is a... More

We arrived fairly early in order to have time to take advantage of all the offerings. Check in was uneventful, and the room was not fancy, but had everything we required. We had a balcony that was very nice as it overlooked the lake and gardens and the beautiful mountains. There is no air conditioning, but there was a fan... More

So, we stayed here because we were tired driving from Vancouver. We should have kept driving, or picked a place earlier like the Noah's ark place. I'm sure most places would be better. The staff member at the desk assured us we'd be in a quiet room, we wouldn't even hear the highway etc... Well, that was definitely not the... More

This hotel has an amazing location. As an Albertan with family in BC, I've spent many road trips as a passerby to this hotel and thought it looked like it would be a wonderful retreat. Recently we decided to treat ourselves and make it a rest stop and stay the night here. We had excellent service checking in and felt... More

We stayed here on the way to the Rockies. I stayed here many years before and it has improved and expanded very well. Excellent location with very good mountain vistas. Full amenities and very family friendly.

We drive from Vancouver Island to Calgary about four times a year to visit family and every time we drive by we comment to each other that we should stop there again. The last time was in 1977. So we did. It is a funky, interesting, unusual and very welcoming place. Yes it is right on the Trans Canada Highway... More

It's hard to describe this truly beautiful but enigmatic establishment. Fortunately our guide filled us in on the history of the guy who built the hotel and all the strange collections of just about anything interesting he could lay his hands on. The place seems to be run by a team of enthusiastic geriatrics. Go into the cafe first and... More
