I have never stayed here but the "hot springs" part is a misnomer. His pool areas and waterslides are not open. The owner has a hotel but that is all. Canadian taxpayers contributed a lot of money in the form of grants for the owner to build this atrocity. Most of it should be condemned. I believe the government should... More

We stayed here in late September 2012 because all rooms in Terrace were booked. I remember Skoglund hotsprings in the 1960s and was hugely disappointed to see how the property has deteriorated over the years. When I let my dog out in the parking lot she immediately found a rat. There's a farm on the property and many cats running... More

Its a construction zone never open half the time because of no staff, which is because the mini manager fires good employees just before they reach 90 days (Probation Period) What ever Political football is being kicked around about its obligations to the public the practice of firing people before they have their 90 days in is just wrong.

Mt Layton Hotspring should be closed. The rooms are small and one can hear everything in the room next to it. The food at times is good but with such a turn- over of cooks, the food can't be relied on. Buildings are built and never finished. It looks like a construction zone. It is gem to preserved with one... More

My partner and I went to the hotsprings during a recent trip to Terrace. I had pleasant memories of the hotsprings from when I was a child, when the facilities were new, so I was looking forward to it. Had I known the condition of the facility now I wouldn't have gone anywhere near it! I cannot understand how the... More

I stayed at the hotsprings for 2 nights and the pool conditions were horrible. The bottom of the main pool was coated with algea and slimy in spots. They were cleaning the pool with a hand held steel bristle brush on Saturday morning. The guy was diving down and scrubbing the bottom for as long as he could hold his... More

From January 20-22, 2006, I stayed at the Mount Layton Hot Springs motel with a boys' hockey team during a tournament in Kitimat (they couldn't find rooms closer to the arenas). This facility is the most run-down property I have stayed at in many years. - the first impression of the property is bad, as there is scrap lumber and... More
