Nice place, but it’s pretty much a pipeline camp. Lots of traffic. There are some nice spots tucked here and there, and then there’s pipeliner spots. Hot showers, beautiful mountains, swift river and nice staff.

This riverside campground has potential but it is very run down and unkempt. Here is our experience: We pulled in at 12. A big sign said “go find a spot you like and come back to the office in the morning to pay for it.” So I picked out Site 24 out of a slew of campsites that had unsuitable power supply for my 30 amp rig. And/or broken picnic tables. The electrical turned out to be pretty sketchy with lots of surges, so I unplugged the power and went to DC on my solar panel instead. I thought, oh well, at least I have solar panels. No air conditioning on a blistering hot day though. I had a shower with plans to head for a nap after. After my shower, i went to get something from my truck, and there was another truck with a trailer behind my rig in my site. I told the young guy driving that the site was taken. He replied that he had just paid for the site and I had to leave. I was too tired to argue, and hey, I was there to Rest and relax not to fight. I packed up and swung by the office which was now open. I calmly explained what had just happened, and the woman shrugged and said “oh well”. And got back to office work. My experience here was now horrible. I have stayed in the other campground Irwin’s ,and have had only great experiences’…

I stayed here on my way into BC and 7 days later on my way out of BC. Great place, quiet, Frendly owner. The second time there we showed up late, there was a note on the door telling people to find a spot and pay in the morning with a list of already reserved spots. We stay both nights right on the river. Bring bug spray, lots of bugs.

We dropped in and secured a large, private spot for our 28ft trailer. We paid for 4 nights and then decided to extend to 5 nights which was no problem. The campground is a bit rustic but there is lots of space between spots so the privacy was awesome. The bathrooms were clean and limited to two people at a time and they left a bottle of bleach for guests to spray down areas they touched. The shower stalls were super tiny so if you are a large person, you won’t fit. We loved Valemont area and spent two days at the bike park and a day canoeing Kinbasket lake. FYI, the bike park shuttle only runs on Thursdays-Sundays. Also, most of Valemont shuts down on Mondays and Tuesdays so if you want to go to the pub or anything else, plan accordingly. There is a big field and an ATV track where our dogs could go for a run. The river was running really high so no swimming for the dogs. …

We stayed here one night with family. It was really nice that they had put us all together ( 3 units). We liked that we were right next to a little creek, pretty scenery. The wifi didnt work well but they had informed us there was one central spot it worked well at, it was close by Shuswap lake however not the 15 minute walk we were told, more like 45 minutes. Bathrooms were very clean and well kept. Definitely will stay here again.

I do not recommend Canoe River Campground. My booking was wrong, our site had no privacy and dog poop right in the centre. The showers had black mould and the playground was not suitable for children.

We loved the location. Our site was rustic but still comfortable with electric and water hook-ups. There is a dump on premises but they do charge unless the stay is 3 days or longer. We were right on the Canoe River. There is a lot to do in the area, especially for bike riders and hikers. It is an hour+ from Jasper, but there are a lot of trails and picnic areas between Valemount and Jasper. The town in small but cute and the brew pub was jumping. The workers pretty much left us alone, but were very helpful when we had questions.

3 months prior to wedding date that was booked in 2o16 for 2018. They doubled booked and cancelled our venue. Shame on them for not being more organized and for not making amends to the wedding couple. Weddings take planning and 2 years of planning was crushed in one phone call. I would never recommend them.

We had our wedding booked here since July 2016 but found out with 3 months until our wedding that they somehow have double booked us and now we are scrambling to find a new place to get married. They had two years to figure this out, they didn’t seem to understand the stress they have put on us by doing this. She left me a voicemail stating she double booked us and would have to cancel or wedding then she didn’t return my calls or answer her phone until the following day. I suggest not booking here as they are clearly very disorganized. Stay at the golf course in Valemount they are the most accommodating. We love Valemount and go here every year but we will not be returning to this specific campsite ever again!

Do not trust this campground to honour any bookings; you will be disappointed. They simply do not care for their customers. Wedding of 150 people was cancelled with less than three months notice. Shame on them.
