This past summer, we stayed in Valemount as a jumping-off point for a backpacking trip to Mount Robson Provincial Park. I had found this B&B on bbcanada.com, which usually does not lead me wrong. Although owner Sharon was friendly enough, we found our room (the Moon Viewing Suite) was not very clean. The carpet was damp and dirty (perhaps from someone else's hiking boots - we left ours at the front door), and the bathroom had hair on the toilet and mould growing in a corner of the tub. The window latch was broken, meaning it could be opened only all the way, or not at all. The adjacent room was being occupied by a couple of workers who were on a long-term stay to work on a pipeline that was being installed, and they rose at the crack of dawn to go to work. Wouldn't a room called the Moon Viewing Room at Mountain Reach B & B be wonderful. Don't kid yourself. This place was not a pleasure to stay at. Think of staying at Grandma's house - chinzy and cheap bedding and curtains and furnishings. Our room looked out over the kid's play structure outside. How you could see the moon through that tiny window is beyond me! The large hairy dog that seemed to want to join us outside was annoying and unwanted. The breakfast wasn't something special prepared for us - the owner asked us what we wanted. The fair trade coffee was OK I guess, be she only had skim milk! The worst part, though was that the water in the shower stunk of sulphur! That explained the overwhleming lavender scent in the room when we arrived. I couldn't wait to get to our next accomodation so I could take a REAL shower.

What a waste of money. This B &B is nothing like the website.
