We stopped at this B&B on a trip across Canada. It was located close to the ferry to Newfoundland so seemed like a good choice. We were not disappointed. The house is old but has been restored and furnished with wonderful antiques and interesting pieces. We stayed on the upper floor with a queen bed and private bath. Actually had... More

A warm welcome from Cheryl set the tone; a wonderful bedroom; we loved the decor and its old world ambience. The breakfast was a tasty masterpiece, far more dishes and choices than we have ever experienced, - fresh fruit salad, any number of cereals, pancakes, muffins, a selection of fresh breads, toast, jams and home made maple syrup. Orange juice,... More

Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The house, gardens, common areas and guest rooms are a real treat - fascinating antique furnishings, cozy, comfortable. Our welcome was of the warmest as well as prompt and efficient. Breakfast was a feast with the largest selection of cold and hot items I've encountered in a bed & breakfast - and... More

We only stayed for one night but I would not hesitate to come back. The house is beautifully restored and it is very cozy! We enjoyed sitting in the living room in the evening and the breakfast in the morning was just heavenly... North Sydney is not very interesting to visit in Ocotober but this B&B more than makes up... Cheryl is the " Hostess with the Mostest! " Nothing was too much trouble, even down to the wine & mulled cider on hand every night, not to mention the goodies to go with! The breakfast were delicious & different each morning we were there, nobody left the table hungry that's for sure! My wife & I have no problem... More

We stayed one night at Chamber's Guest House on our return by ferry from Newfoundland. The location is 5 minutes from the ferry in a quiet neighborhood and in walking distance to restaurants. Cheryl is a superb hostess, warm and friendly. Full of interesting antiques, Cheryl's home is totally charming. The breakfast is over the top good with so many... More

Very comfortable and quiet. Cheryl such a welcoming, helpful hostess. Breakfast of an astonishing assortment of scrumptious delicacies. Old house decor that is filled with eye-catching, intriguing antiques and other objects. A great base for visiting Sydney, Glace Bay Mine museum and Fortress Louisburg. This is a true gem!

Lots of personal attention and caring, artistic detail at this charming, comfortable victorian B & B. The antique, embroidered linens are starched and ironed. Can't say enough about the interesting collection of antiques and lavish breakfast with many fresh pastries to chose from (along with a delicious eggy entre). A treat to be sure!

Do yourself a favour and use The Chamber House. The owner, Cheryl was the nicest person you will ever meet. The house is a story in itself with all the antiques and truley charming decor. Breakfast consisted of everything you would want to eat and more. Home made is the word when it comes to Cheryl's goodies and beleive me... More

An excellent stay and a very kind host! She cares so much about her guests, right down to offering an umbrella when going outside on a rainy day. Want to play chess? In the living room is a particular beautyful set of it. As to the incredible breakfast & the "library" there's nothing left to say but perfect. Thank you,... More
