We had a lovely experience at this well equipped cabin on a lake until we got into bed and the smoke alarm began to go off. This would not have been too much of a problem however the alarm itself was his up on the wall beyond anyone's reach. Regretfully we had to awaken the caretaker who cheerfully returned with... More

It's hard to believe Irwin Lake is so close to Truro, and just an hour or so away from Halifax - it feels like you've driven hours away from urban chaos. I'd highly recommend this place if you are looking for an easy escape for a night or two (and especially if you are visiting from out of province, and... More

Irwin Lake chalets are located just few minutes out of Truro, but have the feel of being located in the middle of the woods, far from the daily busy life. The setting is beautiful, the chalets are surrounded by the woods and have a lake view. It is very peaceful and quiet there and it is just what you need... More

Never knew about this place but we will go back. We are busy city people and this place was the ideal place to relax and do nothing. Only 1 hour from Halifax. So peaceful. We used the canoe. Only issue is there are no fire pits at each cabin (6 cabins) - you had to go up to the playground... More

My daughter and I recently stayed for a night. A drive along the dirt road will bring you to the secluded chalet area. Watch out for the wild life! The chalets are situated along the peaceful Irwin Lake. Each chalet is equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, one or two bedrooms, and wood stove. They each have a covered deck... More

Went for our first visit to Irwin Lake for a mom's weekend away in January! It was soooo quiet, even nature was not making a peep!! Great walking trails - even in the snow. The wood stove and blanket of fresh snow made it perfect! Can see how great it would be with the lake in the summer as well!... More

This place was recommended to us by family who are regular visitors at these Chalets. I cant believe we waited this long to get away here. I absolutely loved it. We went up for 2 nights I could have stayed for longer. Our visit was in March. We were hoping to get some skiing in, however the weather did not... More

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. We stayed a total of 6 nights, and loved it! We stayed in the Deer Nook cabin, which had full amenities and was just beautiful. It even included a jacuzzi tub. The chalet itself is absolutely beautiful, the staff is amazing, very helpful and friendly. The chalets are very private, and... More

Went to Irwin Lake Chalets in August 2011, stayed at the one bedroom with loft, and salt water hot tub on the deck. Beautiful! Took a day trip to Victoria Park, perfect thing to do. The chalet didnt want for anything...provided all the details, and had a lovely wood stove that really made it super cozy for snuggling. :)
