We stayed there last year. The building is gorgeous and located within walking distance of town. We stayed downstairs and had a choice of rooms. One had too many porcelain dolls so was a bit creepy and dusty rose just isn't a relaxing room colour. We stayed in the other room and found someone's underwear in a drawer. We had... More

Great accommodation, great food and hospitable hosts. Relatively short driving distances to Gravenhurst, Port Carling, Huntsville and Dorset make it ideal for exploring Muskoka. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable.

We stayed for two nights during the Labor Day weekend and was very delighted with the service, hospitality and accommodations. We wanted to stay at a B&B instead of a hotel and we are so glad we found this beautiful place. Hosts were very polite and very accommodating. We were also treated to thier fanstastic home made specialty breakfastst in... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a very good stay. The rooms were very spacious (and beds very high!) with water & snacks in the room. You could also help yourself to drinks downstairs. Breakfasts were impressive, if not a little odd. Strange combinations of food, but very well presented. The only thing which let it down was... More

Our first bread and breakfast experience was a very good one. The room was very spacious and clean, we had a great night's sleep . Breakfast was amazing, blueberry pancakes and as a bonus they made gluten free pancakes for my wife. Highly recommended.

Myself and my wife stayed at the Monastery a few days ago and I have to compliment Barrie and Madeleine for their excellent hospitality. Our bedroom was spacious and there was a guest sitting room also. Breakfast was amazing! Barrie and Madeleine served us breakfast in their kitchen at their own table. We had a great chat about all things... More

We have just finished our 5th weekend over the last 7 years with Barry and Madeleine. We again had a great time and enjoyed there company as they hopefully did ours. Breakfast is excellent and the rooms are very clean and quiet. I would highly recommend staying at The Monastery.

The Monastery b&b in Bracebridge is unusual, in terms of the spacious suites, beautiful woodsy environs, and excellent breakfast. The owners have created a very well thought through, and very considerate, establishment. Highly recommended.

As we live in a hundred year old rectory in Wales, UK, we thought it was only fitting that we should stay in The Monastery, Bracebridge, during our brief trip to the area. We did not book in advance but called from a tourist centre outside town. Within an hour we were being warmly welcomed by Barry and Madeline -... More
