We recently stayed at Spirit Bear Bed & Breakfast when we were in the Muskokas and it was great. Terry and Eva were very friendly and helpful and the renovated old Church that the B&B is in, is a really nice building in a great location. Also the breakfast they prepared was amazing! Would definitely recommend it.

My family came to visit from France and we stayed at Terry and Eva's beautiful home. They did an amazing job at renovating the historic church. They managed to keep the majestic feel of the building and make it very warm and confortable. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel right at home. A little piece of heaven...

We had just a wonderful stay with Eva and Terry. The breakfasts were out of this world. The home (a century old church) is divided so we had the congregation area to ourselves pretty well - Eva and Terry's living space is the chapel area with an addition where we were welcome as well. The rooms were nicely decorated with... More

Another wonderful stay at Spirit Bear Bed and Breakfast with hosts Eva and Terry Watson. We have stayed here several times in all seasons of the year. The accommodations are exceptional and the value is terrific. The comforts of a home away from home !

My husband and I absolutely recommend staying here! We brought our one year old daughter and she had tons of room to explore their beautiful and spotless home. Eva and Terry were fantastic hosts! The food was just delicious! The location is amazing, right next to downtown. The price was more than reasonable! We LOVED staying here and will definitely... More

Eva and Terry have a good thing going here. As a guest, you'll be glad you chose Spirit Bear! The building is a beautifully renovated church that's bright, open into large main floor rooms, and modernly decorated. The two guest rooms are well appointed, private and very comfortable. There's a large shared bathroom close to both bedrooms. The backyard is... More

Lovely couple runs this B&B located in an old church. Exceptionally clean place with lots of sitting areas indoors. One disappointment for us is that we expected to have a private bathroom but somehow missed the fact that the bathroom is shared when we booked our room. If you are OK with that and the fact that the bedrooms have... More

Thank you very much for your kind review and for staying with us for 2 nights recently! We would like to clarify that one bedroom has skylights of which one opens, but the other bedroom Fairy Lake has a regular window along with a skylight. The bathroom is shared for guests, however there is also another full bathroom for use... More

My husband & I were looking for a place to stay in Bracebridge while we were exploring Muskoka for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I stumbled across Spirit Bear in the B&B searches, and felt immediately that this was a special place, just from the photos!! And from the moment we arrived, we knew it was a magical... More

What a wonderful place to stay! I booked because of the allure of staying in a former church (for which the architecture of the main floor did not disappoint) and the location (easy walking distance to everything downtown). But, I was not at all disappointed in the house or our room. The beauty of the entrance, the colours, openness of... More

When we tried to book the place we had been before we couldn't get in, so decided on Spirit Bear B & B. We were more than pleased, and all of us would for sure return. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Your comforting home away from home in Bracebridge - Spirit Bear Bed & Breakfast is in a church that has carefully been renovated into a beautiful and spacious home, located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, but central to downtown Bracebridge. The frame Primitive Methodist Church was built in 1845, and purchased by The First Baptist Church at Bracebridge in 1887. In 1892 the building was bricked, and in in 1936, an addition was built at the back. The building functioned as a church until 1989. Since that time the church was converted to a home, and in 2007, to a bed and breakfast. We offer two carefully appointed guest rooms with Queen bed, luxurious linens, and complimentary spa-inspired amenities. There are two shared guest washrooms, a three-piece with shower on the upper floor with the guest bedrooms, and a three-piece with bath on the lower floor. The Great Room, formerly the sanctuary of the church, is tastefully decorated with cozy seating areas, books, games, wireless internet access, and television.Breakfast is served in the Great Room daily between 8:00 and 9:30 am, and includes hot and cold selections, fresh seasonal, and when possible, locally-grown produce. We offer a daily special along with a basket of freshly-baked goodies each morning. Complimentary cold beverages are available at all times.
