This was our 3rd visit to the Inn. If you enjoy unique heritage then this is the spot. We have been there with our kids and our parents, both loved it. The hotel is the old Cobourg jail and is just a fascinating building. The rooms still have the original bars. Our teen girls were doing musical numbers from Chicago... More

My review is about my booking experience. 3 months, over a dozen calls, several unanswered messages, and even more unanswered calls... all amounting to a terrible taste in my mouth and a hotel that I will likely never attempt to book with again. I will say that if you are booking one room at a time, it's probably okay -... More

Wow what great place to stay. the new owners have really changed this place...rooms are spotless, macallisters pub was amazing and staff were a pleasure to deal with. They have free wireless which made life easier for sure and we could walk to the beach and downtown all weekend. They let us park for free which is hard to find....great... More

We stayed in Room 20, also called the Desert Escape. It was very spacious, lots of room for hanging out (which we did). The bars, bunk bed and shower were authentic from the time it was a jail and that was interesting. The restaurant food was fabulous, we ate dinner and breakfast there and enjoyed it very much. The manager... More

Very cool concept, but horrible follow through. We checked in and went for supper elsewhere in Cobourg only to come back and find the place abandoned. There were no phones or internet access in either of the rooms we had booked. We searched all areas we had access to for a centralized computer or telephone... none of which existed. The... More

Stayed for one night based on the promises made in the web site. We arrived to a locked entrance. Eventually we were let in. After checking in, we were then told that as it was a Monday night the continental breakfast that was charged for would not be provided as the restaurant and bar were closed. It turned out we... My daughter and I stayed here on our way to Montreal. It used to be the Cobourg Jail. It's a beautiful old brick building near the Lake Ontario shoreline and Cobourg harbor. Each room has a different "theme". Many are based on a jail theme with bars in the rooms and actual prison showers, however the room we stayed in... More

We didn't have reservations but we didn't need any. When we called before we left, they had lots of rooms available. We arrived in mid afternoon and checked out rooms #1,3,9 and 10. Don't let the pictures fool you, room#1 was the best and had the most room. It was designed more like a suite. The regular rate was $150... More

A unique, interesting place, conveniently located in the centre of town. Clean rooms, the beds could use new mattresses though. Check in staff were rude, they seem to be more interested in running the restaurant and socializing with their boyfriends. My biggest problem was they kept the conitnental breakfast a secret (even when I asked) I finally discovered this as... More
