My boyfriend and I are in our late 20's and stayed at the Swallowdale Inn for 2 nights in February 2014. It was like staying with friends- Michael and Isabel were so incredibly friendly and laid-back, and we had such a pleasant and comfortable stay! The lakeside room had a wonderful view, and our private bathroom was in great shape.... More

Many thanks for the kind review, we really enjoyed having you. The deep tracks where you snowshoed on the lake can still be seen! We try to accommodate all our guests' dietary restrictions, particularly gluten-free. Luckily, we have access to some of the top, and best-tasting, gluten-free products in Canada: though gluten-free waffles were a new one for us!! The... More

We have just returned to the UK after spending five glorious nights at Swallowdale Inn. We did quite a bit of research before booking accommodation near Huntsville and eventually picked Swallowdale based on previous very good reviews. We struck pure gold! We believe that we could not have found a more comfortable, hospitable, welcoming base from which to enjoy our... More

What a spectacular review. Many thanks. Having guests that stay for five days is very unusual for us, but you could not have made it more of a pleasure. Muskoka has an ever increasing supply of winter entertainment. Your decision to try out the classical Canadian winter sports including novice snowshoeing and cross-country skiing at the Frost Center (an amazing... More

My husband and I rented the Lakeside Room in April 2013. As we were travelling with our baby daughter, we found it quite difficult to find a B&B where the little one was as welcome as grown ups. And how welcome we were! We asked in advance whether they had a crib for us, otherwise, the baby would sleep between... More

Marie-Luise Wow! It is amazing to be remembered after so long. Although we know that many B&Bs do not like to take children, we enjoy having them. That cot has been very useful. Because of our location on the lake and shallow water for 40 feet out, young children can paddle and swim. We remember your visit well as it... More

This is a wonderful B&B where we felt so welcome thanks to our hosts and their beautiful home. Lovely rooms, fantastic breakfasts and a beautiful lake. We stayed here for a few nights at the start of our trip and would have loved to have stayed longer. Researched a lot of places to stay and very glad we choose here.... More

Many thanks for your kind review. Winter is upon us right now, our guests cannot sit on the dock, and the cats are going stir-crazy. However, our winter guests are finding lots to do with dogsledding, snowshoe and cross country tours, downhill skiing, or simply walking across the frozen lake in the snowmobile tracks. Once back the wood fire is... More

My partner and I rented The Lakeside Room for two nights in order to be close to the cross-country skiing in Algonquin and Arrowhead Provincial Parks. We had a wonderful time -- the room was beautiful, clean, warm and inviting; the "common room" has a spectacular wood fireplace, vaulted ceilings and a big screen TV (with movies to watch!); the... Many thanks for the kind review. As we discussed, most people do not think about Bed & Breakfasting in Muskoka in winter, yet there are all kinds of things to do. Doing as you did, having a couples weekend in a welcoming home is a terrific experience. We really enjoyed chatting with you and hope to see you again. More

Great friends and I just spent an incredible Girls' Getaway Weekend at Swallowdale Inn from November 7-9. What a perfect place to reconnect. When we booked, Isabel reserved two connecting rooms for us but said they would make us as comfortable as possible. What an understatement...when we arrived we were given the entire space, three bedrooms and a huge great... More

A friend and I stayed at Swallowdale Inn B&B for a girl’s getaway weekend from October 18-20th, 2013. Unfortunately one of the girls couldn’t make it at the last minute. Swallowdale Inn was a... More

Thank you for the excellent review. It is, indeed, the intimacy of a B&B that marks it out from a hotel, particularly when you are seeking peace and quiet to enjoy an old friendship. We are delighted that you found that quality with us. This winter we are offering guests the opportunity to have exclusive use of the B&B (no... More
