We paid top dollar for a package on Easter Sunday and had high hopes for this lovely inn. The staff, service and the food quality was excellent but the inn itself and the rooms are really old and worn and run down. This place really needs some refurbishment regardless of trying to maintain that quaint "by gone era" quality.

My wife and I spent last weekend at The Briars looking for a very quiet, relaxing getaway before our second baby is born. The Briars delivered completely. Check-in was easy, and we ended up getting a room that we were not completely happy with, we asked to see any other rooms, and Sheila (front desk person) was more then accommodating.... More

I recently traveled to Canada for business and stayed at the Briar's. It is an old property that has been maintained very well. From the antiques that you find throughout the property to rooms that are comfortable, well appointed and give you an amazing view of the lake; I just could not say more about the place. The people; beyond... More

For over 30 years we have been drawn back to the magic of the Briars at Jackson's Point. We have just returned from a weekend stay to escape the cold winter of late. We invited our daughter who first experienced the Briars as a young child, and her partner (his first visit) this past weekend. Somehow, winter didn't feel quite... More

My husband and I just returned from a 3day, 2night stay at The Briars. The temperature had plummeted again and the snow was falling when we arrived. Walking into the front door we were greeted with a warm fire burning in the sitting room. We were greeted by friendly staff at the front desk and got into our room quickly.... More

We had trouble finding a resort that was open for a mid-week winter getaway and were pleased to find the Briars, never having been there before. We certainly weren't disappointed! From the moment we walked in we were made to feel most welcome. The lady at the front desk was friendly, courteous, and most helpful. Our room was charming, clean,... More

I was stuck in this small town following an ice storm. The front desk supervisor (Ricardo) was kind enough to provide me with a lovely room, on short notice at a reduced rate. The room was well appointed, immaculate and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again

I stayed at the Briars for two weeks for business and found it to be comfortable and clean. The rooms are nothing fancy, just simple furnishings. There is a fireplace in the room, but I did not use it. This is not a modern hotel with modern style. It is more country style, something like Grandma's house. The food was... More

Thank you for your very nice comments, we are glad we could make your extended stay with us comfortable. We will be looking into a system of better signage on our buffet to advise of potential allergy concerns, a great idea! Bob Law, Resort Manager More

The Briars is a beautiful resort. I was just reading over some more current reviews.. Its unfortunate that the couple staying for their family friends wedding had a bad experience.. I did notice that this couple leaves nothing but terrible reviews on the majority of establishments they review. So please take that into consideration when reading through these reviews! We... After an exhausting Christmas we tried to find a resort to visit for a quiet break and perhaps a little winter activity. We didn't want to be over run at a busy ski resort...we wanted to relax and re-charge before New Years. We remembered how much we enjoyed The Briars several years ago on a summer get-away so we decided... More
