I made my reservation on line with Big Horn Motel (dead man's flat) in April/08 for a 6 night stay in Aug./08. When we got there they had no record of our reservation, I showed them my e-mail confirmation booked by Discover Alberta Booking System along with a confirmation directly from Big Horn Motel. But I'm glad they lost our... more

This was the worst motel we have ever stayed at. We had just went through an auto accident & we had two dogs with us, let me start with that, date of stay was January 19, 2008. We were in a room that was freezing cold, there was a plug in heater in the room but it did not work... more

We spent our last night of vacation here and planned on driving back to the Calgary airport in the morning for our flight home. For one night it was okay but I would not want to stay longer. The queen room we had for two of us was very small, two of us could not pass each other around the... more

Nice room with use of communal room and kitchen. Closeness to transcanada highway meant no open windows. No sound proofing so every nearby bathroom noise was chronic, especially late at night and very early morning. We chose this motel because its website advertised a texmex restaurant called Bandeleros next door, saving evening driving. Unfortunately this was closed on Mondays and... more

After staying in several hotels in the greater Canmore and Calgary area, the Bighorn was the worst. It's a very basic motel located just off the main highway in Dead Man's Flat, just outside of Canmore. We ended up in a room on the ground floor towards the back with a view of the parking lot which featured big rigs... more

For $65 CDN (We were Off Season on June 5th, 2007), we found a good inexpensive motel in Dead Man's Flat, very close to Canmore. As I'm not fond of motels, since I prefer B&B by far, i did not expect much from this one, which stood right next to the highway. But I was gladly surprised! The owner was... more

Great hotel, wonderful service. The man at the front desk let us borrow a vcr and movies at no extra charge. We drove to Banff and Lake Louise during the day to sightsee. The Grizzly bear cafe next door has good food. The rate was very inexpensive. I can't recall exactly but probably around $40-$50 a night back in 2003. more

As part of a skiing trip to Alberta, my son & I stayed at The Big Horn Motel for two nights in March 2007 Although it is just off the Trans-Canada Highway, and located near two gas stations, there was no appreciable noise from trucks or cars We paid $ 69 a night for a ground floor corner room, complete... more

We stayed at the Bighorn Motel for two nights. The checkin went very smoothly. The lady (I'm assuming the owner) was very nice and helpful. Our room was in the back of the motel, on the ground floor. We were traveling with a dog so the ground level was great for this. Inside the unit were two beds and a... more
