The Paintbox Lodge has a refreshing hands off approach, yet the prioprietor is more than friendly and helpful whenever necessary. The decor and the atmosphere of the lodge reflects the feel of the region and the lovely town of Canmore. The accomodations at the Paintbox Lodge were worth the time driving to Lake Louise for our hiking and sight-seeing excursions.... more

We had a great stay at the Paintbox lodge. We spent our honeymoon golfing in the surrounding areas, enjoying local restaurants, and relaxing. Our host Michael was very hospitable and helped us out with any questions we had or anything we needed, including tips on restaurants and things to do and see in the area. There is no restaurant in... more

My friends and I recently stayed at the Paintbox Lodge in Canmore. The room was clean, large and cozy and was within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. The owner Michael was a great host and took us out to a place where all the wild animals came out during dusk. We were able to take great pics... more

Paintbox Lodge exceeded on all points, Michael was the best of hosts! The room, Honeymoon Loft, was large clean and had a nice view of the mountains.... the bed was fantastic and the fireplace, jetted tub and organic coffee topped of the attention to detail. As a host Michael was the best and made our stay more than we had... more

Character, warmth, & mountain culture all under one roof. The lodge maintains an intimate yet elegant feel. Unlike some other B & Bs that you feel like you are invading someone's home, the proprietor takes care to exceed your expectations and highly respect your privacy. It can be a fine balance between being hospitable and courteous without being imposing. A... more

I am so glad we chose the Paintbox Lodge for the last night of our trip to the Banff area. It ended our vacation on a very high note. Canmore is a lovely up-and-coming town and we were very happy we chose to spend some time there. The Paintbox Lodge was the perfect place to stay. It's located just one... more

We were slightly concerned when we arrived at the paintbox when we met Michael in the lobby area (which isn't that special) and he told us that there wasn't actually very much to do around Canmore and that for activities we'd be better off heading into Banff. We wondered at that point if we should have bothered with Canmore at... more

We had such a wonderful time - stayed two nights - one before an arduous hiking trip into the BC back country and the next - R&R from the hike. Michael is a wonderful host. The rooms are luxurious, especially the beds, lovely organic coffee, tea and juice, and vouchers for great breakfast products at local cafes. The Paintbox is... more

Paintbox Lodge is a charming chalet in the heart of downtown Canmore. We just returned from a weeks stay at the lodge and it was a wonderful experience. Michael (the owner) is very informative with local information and a great host. Our Wildness Suite had everything we needed, plus a beautiful view of Three Sisters Mountain. If you are headed... more

My new hubby and I spent the first few days of our honeymoon at the Paintbox - so happy we did. Roaring fire, beautifully decorated, warm and cosy. Easy to walk to all restaurants and shops. Parking. The owner was extremely helpful and recommended some brilliant restaurants such as The Trough and the cafe Communitea for breakfast. Our room was... more
