Five of us friends stayed at the resort on a time share in mid June and loved it. The chalet was an A-frame with a master suite, guest bedroom and pullout in the living room. All were very comfortable. The chalet was very clean and the management was very accomadating. We spent every evening out on the deck which had... more

This resort is wonderful if you, like us, enjoy quiet places with a wonderful view and lots of wildlife, as well as a full kitchen so you can cook some of your own meals. We came here to enjoy the outdoors, and this resort fell right in line with our expectations. No, there are no restaurants or shops in walking... more

This an old outdated resort. It is not in Canmore as listed, but many miles away off an old / almost deserted highway exit (Dead Mans Flat Rd), and located about 2 miles down a dirt commercial road - past a large industrial rock pit. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICES OR FOOD ANYWHERE NEAR THE RESORT. THE RESORT IS NOT... more

We arrived on the Greyhound in Canmore. We decided it would be wise to get our groceries before taking a cab out to the resort as it was some distance from Canmore and it is even further from Banff. (The closest place is Dead Mans Flats) The chalets are ski type chalets with a boot room and large patio with... more

We had the opportunity to use an exchange of RCI points from a friend so that we could stay at this place on short notice for a week. Our friend had stayed here many times with his family and he loved it. He called it Rustic. Well, we loved it too. We came prepared with our clothing, snow boots and... more

I'm at the Banff Mountain Gate Resort right now. It's okay but could be cleaner and needs updating. The indoor pool is the worst pool I have ever seen. The entire vinyl lining is torn and loose. The tile on the edge is falling apart and moldy. The outdoor hot tub is closed for repairs. The games room and lodge... more

As members of RCI we have visited many resorts over the last 25 years. We have never been given a unit as dirty as this. The bathroom floor had dirt and hair. The kitchen floor was filthy. There was dust everywhere. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and so were the cupboards. All dishes and cooking utensils had to... more

We (family of 4) stayed here for 1 week (August 7) and had a fabulous time. The resort itself is set in the most beautiful setting imaginable with glorious sunrises and sunsets over the mountains. Great hiking trails adjacent to the resort, friendly staff and all of the Banff attractions about 30 minutes away on the Trans Canada highway. This... more

We visited the Banff Gate for one week beginning July 7, 2006. We stayed in an updated (or almost updated unit.) As an interior designer, I could offer a few suggestions. There were a few minor housekeeping issues, but overall the chalet was clean. The location is approximately ten mins. to downtown Canmore (a great little town with some wonderful... more
