The Pocaterra is one of the nicer Best Westerns I have frequented. It's an easily accessible property off the TransCanada Highway, just over an hour's drive from Calgary, depending on traffic. I stayed here as a much cheaper alternative to staying in Banff, less than $100/night. They offer free wifi. The lobby is warm and inviting, and the staff professional... More

Very nice hotel. They are upgrading and will be even better. Breakfast was good, hotel staff were good and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms were larger than normal hotels. Would recommend to family as well, the pool/waterslide was nice. Location made it really easy to get anywhere in Canmore. Negatives: hardwood floors in rooms are nice, but noisy and parking... More

We can highly recommend this hotel! We stayed with our 3-year old daughter for two nights and had a wonderful relaxing experience, which is exactly what we were looking for. We had requested a quiet room with a view to the mountains and were so happy when our request was accommodated. The breakfast (included in the price) was fantastic as... More

Stayed here at Timbits hockey tournament. We were constantly reprimanded by staff as we attempted to use facilities, despite being stone sober responsible adults who were always supervising their children. Chlorine levels in pool were extremely high. Saw a dog urinate in hallway right in front of elevator outside our room- informed staff, but did not see any cleaning of... More

We booked 12 rooms for a Timbit hockey team in March. When we booked (in December) we attempted to book a meeting room as a place for the parents and kids to meet, play and socialize. We were told they were all booked. When we arrived, I again asked about booked a meeting room, and again advised they were booked.... More

Clean, comfortable end to a long day of driving. Rested and ready to drive again the next morning. Staff were helpful in suggesting restaurants and recommending a choice near by. I have a mobility handicap so appreciated the ramps and elevators plus the handicapped parking near the entrance. The fan in the bathroom was not working but that was no great... More

I was very tired to drive from BC accross Rocky Mountain all day long. When I entered lobby it was little bit messy but they were renovating all hotel. When I checked in the room it was really nice all amenity and facilities. Room has ample space and crispy clean and fire place made me a warm and enjoyable night... More

We've made very good/excellent experience with BW hotels but this one just disappointed us. The breakfast area was dirty and the food stations where always empty. The employees needed a long time to refill the food stations. We were so frustrated that we went to another restaurant for breakfast on the second day of our stay. Also we found a... More

This is a nice hotel. It was quite clean and had very comfortable beds. The kids loved the waterslide because it shot you out like a rocket, and the pool was nice temperature. In the morning, we decided that the free breakfast was one of the best we ever had.

This hotel, located on an obscure one way street is a bit tricky to get to but well worth the effort. They are in the process of renovating and we got a room that had just been updated. Not many hotel room have a gas fireplace - but this one does. Unfortunately, it set off the smoke detector - but... More
