beautiful location with pretty flowered meadows on rugged mountain ridges. The rustic cabin was quaint and tastefully decorated. Nightime fires overlooking the Athabasca river were memorable events . The horses roam freely which adds to the outdoorsy feel.Great home cooked edibles await your sampling in the morning at the renovated historic train depot. I would definitely visit here again! More

Sorry for the late review. This place is so special, we visited in late November 2010 when the snow was on the ground. The cabin was ready for use when we got there with a log fire burning, what a start. Our stay was peaceful, tranquil and spectacular. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay, this was an highlight... More

It is just by the river and the teepees are so nice, rustic and the whole place exudes such a nice charm. This was the highlight of our trip. I liked this more than the wonderful and beautiful rockies More

My husband and I had never stayed at a B&B and we just wanted a couple day get away so we made a last min. reservation . The Rustic Ridge is an ecclectic little cabin overlooking the Athabasca River, very private and exceptionally clean! Carol is a very gracious host with great tips on local activities AND the breakfast was... More

We booked 2 nights in teepee 2 this year and surprised our girls (ages 6 and 11). From the moment we arrived I knew that we had made the right choice! The property is breath taking, Carol and Mary are wonderful people and the teepee was a hit!! It was so nice not to have to pack everything for camping.... More

Staff were very friendly, professional, and very very accommodating. No indoor plumbing in this cabin was no problem. We were very close to all of the amenities yet still enjoyed our very own secluded river front shangrila. Complimentary breakfasts every morning in the main house was like joining our extended family. They have all types of accommodation here, but if... More

We first experienced Old Entrance last summer - looking for a different adventure. We enjoyed it enough to return again this year. Both trips were just for a couple of days. It's a beautiful location - right on the river. We stayed in tipi's both times. Both of our tipi's were on the river - but bear in mind that... More

We had a fabulous two night stay at The Old Entrance. Arriving very late, Carol was so welcoming. The stove was lit with the kettle boiling merrily. Breakfast was extensive and delicious but th ehighlight has to be our hour and a half on horseback with many rough gorgeous countryside. we enjoyed a second night in a nearby room in... More

My husband and I were taking his parents to the Rockies for the first time and were looking for a different more authentic form of accommodation - something unique and original. Old Entrance completely fills the bill. The location, just 10 minutes out of Hinton, throws you back to when the trains and tourists first graced this valley. This most... More

We spent 5 days at Old Entrance and enjoyed it thouroughly. Having stayed in Jasper several times, we thought we'd try a B & B further out as we wanted the solitude and quiet surroundings. The cabins are spread out nicely on this site, and the views are very beautiful, as the mountains provide the backdrop to the forest across... More
