This is more than a B & B - Jack & Alice are great hosts and offer very comfortable accommodation with the added bonus of offering entertainment and being able to view the night skies in their attached observatory. The humour at the breakfast table is also something not to be missed. Peter & Wyn Aldous, Geraldine, New Zealand

My business, an adventure travel company specializing in geology tours, has booked rooms at the Observatory for 15+ years. Our guests have never been disappointed. Jack does a fabulous job of introducing novices to astronomy, while serious star-gazers will delight in his detailed knowledge of the cosmos. State of the art photo equipment is available, so you can take home... More

-perched on the edge of the mountain over looking The town of Osoyoos and the Osoyoos lake, spectacular. -a fabulous opportunity to view the stars through their telescope from their observatory, Jack gave us a wonderful presentation on astronomy (101), and to viewed an IMAX 3d movie on the Hubble telescope in their home theatre. -Jack and Alice were very... I thought this place looked interesting when we were looking for a place to stay in Osoyoos. Though my husband and I don't know much about astronomy, we thought it would be an experience. It was so much more than that! Alice and Jack are so warm and welcoming. The room we had (the Saturn room) was amazing, with it's... More

Jack and Alice are wonderful hosts! Im not even sure where to begin really. The rooms are so comfortable with beautiful views of the Oosoyos valley. They even provide a grill for all the guests to use, so if you dont want to eat out you can dine with the best views in the area! In the morning you go... More

From the minute we walked in we felt home!!! Jack and Alice are super friendly and welcoming. The rooms are great, the decoration fits the theme and the view is incredible!! Jack's knowledge is huge!! His sky tours were so interesting and fun! The breakfast took place in their living room with a fantastic view on the city. Seriously it... More

Million $ view, great suite, deer in the back yard(not guaranteed!), & wonderful hosts. Just to call this a b&b is misleading, it's more like astronomy boot camp. Jacks love of the cosmos is infectious & he shares his enthusiasm & his telescope to all comers in morning & evening viewings . We had hadn't even got in the door... More

What a treat this stop was. The place is not easy to find (well it wasn't for us) but when you get there the trip is worth it. The house stands on top of a mountain overlooking Osoyoos and the Lake. We were there on Canada Day and sat on the terrace drinking wine and watching the fireworks down below... More

This review needs two parts. But both score the same... Excellent! The B&B itself is lovely, we stayed in the largest Eclipse suite. It is a large two bedroom/one bath unit, with a kitchenette and living room. It was comfortable, and the beds were great. My teenaged kids had their own room with twin beds and everything was perfect. Alice... More

We stayed for three nights at the Observatory B&B with hosts Jack and Alice Newton. Jack is a wealth of information, and Alice is an absolute delight. Our room was a pleasant surprise - a full suite including kitchen! We had a separate bedroom, livingroom and open kitchen area -- with a private patio overlooking the town of Osoyoos and... More
