Stayed 1 night in the Albion. Very cheap so don't expect luxury. But cheap isn't always so bad..The Albion is ideally located for the Sky Tower & Not to far from bars & cafe. 10 min walk to The Viaduct. Staff are friendly & helpful. Excellent bar and rooms are basic but clean. Stayed at the Kiwi Hotel in Auckland... More

Super nice folks, checked in early and very helpful on check out. Free wi-fi. Room was small, but cool and clean. Shower had plenty of hot water. Location is good - across street from Sky City. Highly recommend taking the inter-city bus from the airport -- saves loads of cash from a taxi.

Ok let's start with the positives. They allowed me to check in and check out early. That's it. The room is hot (no a/c), really smelly and very small. It's also outdated with a filthy bathroom with mildew in the shower. The walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbour's TV word for word even at 4 am! Consistent... More

We really liked the old charm and genuine feeling of The Albion. It is nothing for you who needs a more fancy place to stay but we loved it. Really great location also. The staff was friendly and fun and the bar and restaurant was good. Would love to stay there again, next time I visit Auckland. Extra plus to... More

Stayed here for 1 night on New Year's Eve. It was a a very basic room but at NZ$120 for 3 pax, no complaints. Check-in was easy, efficient and each guest was given a wifi code which is included in the room price. Our room had a view of the Auckland tower so we managed to catch the fireworks from... More

Out of all of the countries in the world I have visited (including third world countries) this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There is no way it would pass a health inspection. The bathroom was covered in mold spots and the window glass was broken so it let in the freezing night air. The... More

Lovely old pub with friendly staff, thats a start and mabey the finnish. Having a sore leg climbing the stairs to the rooms were hard. On arrival we were told our room we booked six mths prior had been given to others leaving only a room with two singles. Tired and a few ours later we got a room. It... More

This is an historic hotel. Be aware there is no elevator and you might be climbing 3 flights of stairs. Some things in the rooms are a bit tired but the owner is in the process of redecorating. Don't be afraid to give it a visit - we had an enjoyable night and the meal in the restaurant was good... More

We stayed here whilst visiting Auckland for NYE. Fantastic location in the middle of everything. Friendly staff. Decor a bit tired, but everything was clean. Perfect if you want to be in the centre without the usual price tag.

New Years Eve in the city. Watch the Sky Tower Fireworks, but where from? Tried all the available locations around the city in past years. Decided last year we'd book a motel/hotel in the city. Wow, what a great night. The whole city came out to watch and enjoy. Our room while smallish had all we needed and was clean... More
