Judy the owner was the perfect host in this wonderful peaceful and very comfortable location. We were in the area looking for a possible future home and Judy was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Judy offers the best breakfast in town which you can eat on your own or share travel stories with the other guests Stanley the dog will take... More

My husband booked in to this beautiful villa as a surprise weekend away for the two of us. Everything from the subtle aroma of rose oils as you arrive, to the incredible decor throughout the home, to our absolutely perfect room. We were booked in to the 'french' room complete with its own balcony. It was nice to be able... More

We highly recommend this lovely 'home away from home'. We’ve just returned from a 4 week holiday in NZ and found this to be one of our favourite stays. We were particularly impressed with the Inn’s location, and the owner’s friendly and helpful attitude. After travelling from the east coast of Canada, we really appreciated that the owner had arranged... More

We stayed at the Peace and Plenty Inn during the third leg of our honeymoon. It's a lovely Victorian property with beautifully decorated rooms and well placed for taking the ferry over to Auckland. The hostess Judy was a nice lady, though sometimes she did seem a bit reserved. Quite a few other honeymooners and travelling couples were present when... More

While on the North Island, my husband and I celebrated our 31st anniversary in Devonport. We wanted to escape the busyness of Auckland, and found Devonport to be just what we needed. What made it even more exceptional was staying at The Peace and Plenty Inn. The close proximity of the ferry was convenient yet we were out of the... More

We stayed in this hotel before hiring a motorhome and touring the North Island of New Zealand. Having never set foot on New Zealand soil before, we were expecting a beautiful, friendly place. What we got far exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived at the Peace and Plenty we were shown hospitality, till the moment we left. During... More

From the moment we arrived in Auckland till the sad day we left it we were given the upmost hospitality that I've ever experienced! My wife and I decided to go to New Zealand to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, and decided to book the Peace and Plenty after reading the review in the 'Lonely Planet'. What we got far... What a great way to start our trip to New Zealand! The Peace and Plenty was very enjoyable and the service that innkeeper, Judy, provided was outstanding! We arrived late into Auckland and she arranged for her driver to meet us at the airport. There was no problem with check-in. The Windsor Room was ready and waiting for us. The... More

During a 6 month holiday in NZ we stayed at Peace and Plenty on 5 separate visits and have tried every room! It was our top place to stay out of 53 hotels and B&Bs visited in NZ. Reasons are as follows. - Location is superb. Devonport is a short ferry ride from the city, but allows a peaceful retreat... More

The owner, Judy, will let you take her dog Stanley for a walk. More like he walks you! But still fun if you can keep up with him. Best breakfast in all of Auckland, probably. Rooms are nice but minor quibbles -- TV remote needed batteries, not enough electric outlets in the room. But these are very, very minor issues.... More
