Jackie and Claus have made a superb job of presenting this Lodge to the market.Decor tasteful, quality furnishings and lots of extra little touches. The view of The SkyTower lit up at night, from the verandah was special. Could not fault the breakfasts we had- delicious! Devenport is such a nice spot to stay - a 15 min harbour cruise to get... More

Every time we entered the house after being out and about, we dreamed that this home was our own! It's immaculately presented with exquisite NZ art and beautiful furnishings and gardens. Claus and Jackie have put their heart and souls into this place and it couldn't be a more comfortable place to relax. They were great hosts without being intrusive... More

Within walking distance of the ferry and all Devonport has to offer, this boutique Lodge is utterly amazing. From quality furnishings to tasteful decor, fabulous bathrooms (the claw-foot roll top bath was lovely) private lounge, and the most amazing pancakes ever tasted, this was a truly relaxing stay with fabulous friendly hosts. Perfect for that special get away. We'll hopefully... More

What can I say but wow. The B and B is a an old 2 storey house that has been completely renovated and brought back to its former glory, quite tastefully I might add with a modern touch. No expense has been spared with the furnishings in the bedrooms with quality sheets, coverings, pillows and the most comfortable mattress I... More

We had the most wonderful stay at the Takarunga Lodge in December. The building is charming and the rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable with quality furnishings and tasteful, elegant decor (none of the overdecorated country nonsense that you often see at B&Bs). Devonport is charming, perfect for walking around with many bookshops, boutiques and excellent restaurants and a very... More

I like to stay in boutique style accom. so when I was made aware of a new B&B opening in Devonport I was quietly excited. Its just on the outskirts of Devonport when your driving over from Auckland so not too far away from the city. The house is beautiful - its newly renovated and the interior style is impeccable.... Possibly one of the loveliest little lodges I've stayed in anywhere in the world. The rooms are sumptuous, the beds are to die for with stunning surroundings & linen. To curl up on a comfortable couch in the lounge for the guests with sun streaming in the window reading a good book & a glass of amazing New Zealand wine... More
