We booked to stay in the Pembroke Room, but as soon as we arrived, Amy generously upgraded us to the Sunset Suite, giving us much more space than we paid for. Amy & Joey gave us a great welcome and really looked after us during our stay. Besides looking after all the usual things that are part of a really... More

Generally, I'm not a big fan of B&Bs, but my experience at Southern Gale was really wonderful. Amy & Joey could not have been more gracious, friendly and helpful. I would stay with them again in a heartbeat!

This past summer, we visited the east coast for the first time and stayed in four or five different places in different cities. This was our favourite stay. As we pulled up to the B&B, Joey greeted us outside and showed us to our room. Both he and Amy were very welcoming and immediately made us feel right at home.... More

I had the pleasure of staying at the Southern Gale while spending a few days hiking in Cape Breton National Park. Upon arrival Amy and Joey were very friendly and showed us our room. The B&B was a bit more rustic than expected, but it was very clean, comfortable and the food was excellent! Amy and Joey were always available... More

My family stayed at Southern Gale for one night during our Maritimes road trip. When we arrived, Amy, our hostess, warmly welcomed us at the door. We stayed at the suite which is very spacious for our family of 4 adults. Amy recommended a restaurant in Cheticamp where I enjoyed a big lobster meal. We came back from dinner and... More

Amy and Joey have a lovely, rustic b and b. We were two couples. We had 2 bedrooms, a living room, bathroom and kitchen including a washer and dryer. It was great to be able to do laundries so conveniently. Not only do they serve a great breakfast, they welcome you into their home with dessert each night. This was... More

We stayed here for two nights and was pleasantly surprised. At first we were wondering if 2 night might be too many but we were quickly reassured when we checked in. Amy and Joey have done a great job of welcoming people into their B&B for three years now and we were also welcomed in and treated like family. From... More

Nice place with great service. Amy and Joey are locals with great knowledge of the area and are happy to share. Breakfast was great, and each night Amy had a freshly made dessert for us, which is a great way to end a day of sightseeing. We thought it was a great value relative to a lot of places we... More

We stayed for one night during a whirlwind trip around Cape Breton. Amy, our hostess, came out the door to greet us before we could get out of our car - very welcoming! Her adorable little dog 'Foxy' had a bit to say as we came in the door, but quickly warmed up to us. Amy suggested a few spots... More

Amy and Joey were friendly hosts who welcomed us into their home as though we were part of the family. We got to select our breakfast menu, and ate at the time we chose. Evening dessert was delicious, and the conversation animated and pleasant. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We'd go back anytime!
