It was a very warm welcome on a cold December evening - everything was great , welcome cupppa, directions for getting back into York for the evening , and a warm coal fire to come back to on the second night after a day in York ,

Exactly as the title says. As a single person travelling alone, I was welcomed with a tea tray and cake, and a lovely homely lit fire and serene atmosphere. Chris and Christine are a lovely couple, and look after you perfectly, from the minute you arrive, right up until you leave. Plenty of information and places to visit. Breakfast is... More

This is a lovely B&B, where we have stayed 3 times as we have family close. Warm welcome with tea and cake, well equipped bedroom overlooking the gardens - small room but everything you would want. Breakfast for OH fine and a peaceful night's sleep on a very comfortable bed. Thanks, Chris and Christine - we shall be back!

I was cycling 75 miles to a hendo in York, because the races were on, accommodation in York itself was high so doing some searching, I came across the old Presbytery's website, which looked like such a bargain. And yes, it was. I was warmly welcomed with tea and cake, which after a full day of cycling, was lovely. The... More

Very easy to find because the house is on the main road and the b&b is set in a lovely old building. Owners are very welcoming, I stayed here for five nights and you are offered a pot of tea and fruit cake every night you get back. The lounge is very cosy with the stove burner and the rooms... More

Booked this 4hrs before I arrived based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. My bag was carried from the carpark by a very welcoming Chris. Met Christine and Jess the dog when they came with a huge pot of tea and some fruit cake for me. Lovely warm sitting room, comfortable and clean single room. I especially appreciated... More

This very old building is furnished in period style, reminiscent of an old farmhouse. The room was comfortable and downstairs there is a large stone-walled lounge with a cosy log-burning stove. Outside, there is well paved parking area and security gates. The breakfast was excellent, the best for a long time and the hosts are friendly and helpful. My only... More

Christine and Chris Dennis provide a wonderful B&B. This was my first visit and won't be my last. Every aspect of my stay was perfect from the pot of tea and fruit cake on my arrival, a bedroom that had everything I could want to a breakfast that sets you up for the day. Chris and Christine are perfect hosts,... More

Need a place to stay over night on the way up to the Lake District. This little B&B was perfect - not to far off the main roads but in a quite enough location - lovely looking property and set in nice grounds. The room was clean and tidy and had everything I needed for a good night sleep (The... More

Very nice rooms and a warm welcome on arrival. Particularly enjoyed the displays of old farm machinery. Hosts couldn't have been nicer and advised on local walks. Enjoyed breakfasting at the rectory table but wouldn't be to everyone's taste. Speciality teas and every effort made to ensure you enjoyed your stay. Were helped with luggage, which is pretty rare nowadays.... More

Thank you for your kind review, WiFi has been improved to cope with handhelds, we book breakfast the night before so the cooking is fresh (NOT reheated) but saves a long wait which can be just as annoying! regards Christine & Chris More
