We had a lovely stay at this B&B for a couple of days. The owner made us feel very welcome and the allocated room was both homely & peaceful. The cooked breakfast was fantastic too. Loved the surrounding gardens. If we are back in the area we would definitely book a room again!

We stayed here for two nights with friends. We stayed in the annex. The decor is a bit tired but it was clean and welcoming. We had the double room with en suite. The bed was very comfortable. Christine was was very welcoming and was helpful over places to eat. She also did a great breakfast. One downside was that... More

I stayed here and couple of nights while working in York in April 2013. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean with an ensuite. It was lovely to have the use of a communal kitchen. The gardens are particularly beautiful with a wooded area, lovely to wander around. The cooked breakfast was very good with a varied selection of cereals,... More

My Mother and I stayed for 5 nights in April 2013. and would recommend this B&B. Our room was comfortable and clean with lovely views over the garden. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of cereals and freshly cooked eggs, bacon etc. The owners seemed to have thought of everything, from a box of emergency supplies eg... More

I stayed here for 2 nights and apart from some confusion about my arrival dates the experience was excellent. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfasts were filling Mrs Steel gave me excellent recommendations of places to visit and were to eat at night. Recommend this to any traveller to the York area.

My partner and I stayed for one night in Oct 2012 after visiting York. We were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us our rooms and asked for our breakfast order. The room was very cosy, little bit old fashioned decor but very comfy and spacious with two arm chairs and separate en-suite. It was also nice to have... More

Only stayed one night as we were doing the "Way of the Roses" cycle. We were made very welcome by Chris and the room was comfortable and spacious. There was a problem with the shower in the room but we were told we could use the family bathroom (a very nice whirlpool bath) but we managed to fix the shower... More

Set well back from main York (6 miles) to Hull road in tranquil setting. Lovely rear garden with large pond, weeping willows and summerhouse and 2acre nature reserve-type front "garden". Proprietor Chris is very knowledgeable of local area and so helpful. Delicious local-produce breakfast, excellent ensuite room. Very handy and well-stocked kitchen. Stayed 6 days whilst exploring Yorkshire. Nearest town... More

We stopped for the night while doing the Way of the Roses cycle ride. My friend and I had the twin room (one double, one single). The property is set far back from the main road - you can't hear the cars from the large lovely garden. The rooms were spacious, warm and light. We could use the microwave and... More

Arrived late, hostess very welcoming despite the hour. Lovely hot shower and the best nights sleep of my trip, in a comfortable king size bed. Tastefully furnished throughout, and an appetizing delicious breakfast. Dropped an earring and had to hunt under the bed for it - spotlessly clean even there! Very competitively priced, will definitely re-visit.
