Full of character and charm - exposed beams with a contemporary feel, the Griffin is a delight. Everything you could need is in the bedroom and the bed was huge and comfy with decent pillows and bed linen. The bath filled quickly with steaming water for a welcome soak after five days at a very damp festival! The food was... More

My boyfriend and I went here just for an evening meal. Booked on the day so were very lucky and the food was excellent. I'm a vegetarian and there was no problem for me although we thought the servings were on the smaller side.

the room was very comfortable and homely; bed soft and old fashioned furniture. This is not modern-chic. No TV - nice change. Little bedside radio. No Wifi - that's a bit of a problem. Very friendly people. Good and different selection of wines and beers. Menu is imaginative and different and meals most enjoyable. Very good full breakfast with lots... More

Popped in for lunch and sat in the shade in the gardens. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Busy day so told it would be 20_30 mins wait for a meal. Both ordered the ploughmans with a side of minted new potatoes. Gorgeous fresh ingredients, Caerphilly cheese, home made bread and pickles, delicious, plus some excellent real ales. We will definately... More

room no.6 is a lovely quiet room so worth asking for. The corridor floorboards are very squeaky outside some of the other rooms so not sure if that would disturb. Big bathroom with great (fierce) shower. No TV but that's a plus sometimes when on holiday I think. Restaurant very high standard as endorsed when we shared the dining room... More

This place has a wonderfully cosy atmosphere, excellent sofas by a big fireplace, nice fresh pints, top quality food and my dog is also welcomed with a bowl of water. What else could you wish from a relaxing chill out? Ideal place, if you want to treat someone very dear to you.

I booked us in on a dinner bed and breakfast package for one night to celebrate my husband's birthday. We both really enjoyed our weekend - the room was well decorated and comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The 3 course dinner we had was of a very high standard and the staff were keen to help with... More

This is our favourite place to eat in this part of Wales. A relaxed atmosphere, excellent service without being intrusive, great food and a reasonable price. What more could you want. We will keep coming.

This is a smallish, but very well kept, hotel in the tiny town of Felin Fach. The bar is well appointed, and the staff are quite friendly and chatty. The lobby is a great place to sit, have a drink, and meet other travelers. The hotel owners have a light-hearted way of explaining policies, such as wiping dogs' feet before... More

Stayed here with husband, child & dog. Generous, comfortable room accommodated us all. Dog allowed to be with us when eating inc breakfast - not sure if certain areas only. We ate in the bar in the evenings. Dog treats, pooh bags, bowls etc provided. Staff very obliging and keen to please. Excellent service. Only downside is a road-trip is... More
