Stayed here with husband, child & dog. Generous, comfortable room accommodated us all. Dog allowed to be with us when eating inc breakfast - not sure if certain areas only. We ate in the bar in the evenings. Dog treats, pooh bags, bowls etc provided. Staff very obliging and keen to please. Excellent service. Only downside is a road-trip is... More

My sister and I spent one night here during a ten-day trip through Wales. It is located just near the Brecon Beacons National Park, so would make a great base for hiking or driving in the mountains. The pub stocks a good supply of maps and hike books and will photocopy pages on request. The room we had was small... More

Having been to the Gurnard's Head the week before whilst on holiday in Cornwall, we decided to pay this place a visit to see if it came up to the same standard but sadly it didn't. The food was nice enough except the main course (lamb) was too salty. Also, the waitresses/waiters didn't really connect with us. They were pleasant... More

This is an excellent pub in a beautiful part of Wales. Inside it is attractively furnished with comfy low and high seating places. We first had coffee which was good and strong. Later I had a ploughman's lunch which was excellent. Served on a wooden board were a couple of wedges of tasty Welsh cheese, accompanied by excellent sourdough bread,... More

Just spent three nights at the Griffin. I can't recommend this place enough. The food was consistently absolutely beautiful. The wine list is very good and, unlike many similar places, very reasonably priced. The service was so helpful and friendly and all the staff seemed very knowledgable. The atmosphere is very relaxed but everything is handled very professionally. Located just... More

Myself and my husband took my 75 year old mum to the Felin Fach Griffin to celebrate her birthday. There is a quite extensive menu to choose from where you will find dishes a little different from the usual restaurant standard meals. I chose a ploughmans lunch which consisted of the usual ingredients plus home made chutney, delicious home made... More

As a visitor to the area my host booked for a Sunday evening dinner. I was not disappointed. The welcome was friendly, our table was ready and the menus were provided as we sat down. It was suggested that the house choice of wine was good and this proved to be true - a reasonably priced Italian. Other, more expensive... More

We booked for a Sunday evening meal with friends, as we hadn't been there for quite a while. The place is lovely, always warm, cosy and comfortable. The staff were really excellent in every way. The food was absolutely delicious. We all had a lovely evening. We travelled 35miles to go there, and it was worth it!

This is our third stay and this time we took our son and his wife, including our 2 year old grandson. What a great time we all had together! If you are sensitive to noise from a busy main road until about 10.30 perhaps this is not the place for you but it is set in an otherwise quiet spot... More

We where recommended to try this pub/restaurant by local friends. First impressions where very good. A lovely country pub, plenty of off road parking. The staff where friendly, efficient and professional. The menu offered a sensible amount of choice and was seasonal. We where dining with friends and chose different dishes. Sadly, chatting later, we all agreed that our food... More

I'm really sorry we didn't quite come up to scratch for you. I'm not sure from your review whether you had lunch or supper with us, but our fixed price lunch menu is £17 for two courses and our fixed price supper £28.50 for three courses, so hope we are pretty good value as long as the team are cooking...
