We love coming here, it's a good old fashioned pub (in a good way) great food and booze, what more could you ask for?! The outside is glorious in the summertime, and it's lovely and friendly inside. Gareth and Jackie really make this place, a lovely warm Welsh welcome! Our lunch was perfect, there is always a lovely veggie option... More

Stopped by here yesterday (Monday afternoon) for a spot of lunch on my journey back to the Midlands and had a nice tuna baguette. Waiting time was a little long considering very quiet but lunch was superb and freshly made with good presentation. Sat out side by main road in sunshine and was most enjoyable.

Good service, nice atmosphere, plenty of character, the meals could have been better. My Sunday roast beef was served in plenty of thin and cold gravy, not good / let the rest of the meal down. Starter was better than main course.

My wife went for dinner here with family and friends prior to a wedding at Llangoed Hall the next day. They'd booked an early slot (6pm) as one of the party was young. The waitress came and asked for the drinks order and 3 of the party ordered a glass of rose wine. The waitress came back to say that... More

Called in this pub for somthing to eat. We were discussing food in front of the bar lady. Then we ordered drinks then tried to order food. She said they do not do food until 18.00 !!! She knew we wanted food but let us order drinks before telling us. It would not have taken much for her to make... More

Charming pub, nice welcoming fire. The Barmaid was not very welcoming. Arrived about 4.30 in the afternoon after a day on the hill. Whilst ordering I talked about getting a sandwich, while the barmaid stood in front of me. When I ordered some food, from the long lists on the chalkboards in front of me I was informed that we... The wife and myself stopped here for a night following a circular pub walk and were not disappointed, This is a nice homely place with real character and warmth. The room was basic but clean and suited our needs. The pub and restaurant are fantastic with log fires, choice of ales and friendly service. The evening meal was superb, very... More

We stopped here for lunch en route to the Elan Valley. It's a lovely village pub full of character with a couple of open log fires burning as you enter. It reminded me of how pubs used to be, where you just went for a drink or bite to eat ! Food was excellent as was the real ale, staff... More
