Unbelievable that complaints about the kitchen fans go back to at lease 2010. The manager really needs to sort out the noise from the kitchen fans. Get rid of it. The noise is like a washing machine in its final spin but lasting hours instead of minutes. Even if it means relocating the kitchen or closing the rooms which are... More

My wife and I arrived at the Forrester Arm and had a friendly greeting. We were shown to our room which was large and very clean. We arrived late afternoon and went on walk 1 which was supplied by the Forresters Arms.A pleasant 2 mile walk back to try the beer which was very well kept and excellent ( the... More

recently stayed, owners on holiday and 2 young girls left to run the hotel, lovely hotel, staff attitude awful, tried contacting the owners when we got back to explain the awful time we had there and they were just as rude as their staff, everything that went wrong in the hotel was apparently a fabrication and their email to me... We stayed at the Forresters Arms to break our journey. I had rung ahead and checked we could bring our dogs - there was much querying as to the size of the dogs which should have rung alarm bells... Our room was very small with basic facilities and a noisy extractor fan in the en suite. We had our evening... More

Room was fine, no issues with noise at all. Breakfast was fine but better quality bread and jam would be a bonus as would a vegetarian breakfast rather than the same minus the meat. Was nice and hot though and generally fine. Have had a lot worse. Had fish and chips the first night which was fine. Would be struggling... More

Nice clean room and very comfy bed. All staff were excellent and made sure you had everything you needed. Food was good. I recommend the beer battered haddock and chunky chips, value for money paid. They serve food all day and sell Local ales. There are 9 letting rooms and all en-suite.

A pub with good food and accommodation (as the owners describe it). A gem on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, ideal for walkers, tourers and those just wanting a getaway break. Relaxed and welcoming. Note: the Forresters is very dog-friendly, which might suit some but not all.
