Just returned form a 2 day break at this fantastic hotel. It was booked as a Xmas gift from the children and we were able to take our small dog which was made more than welcome by the owners and locals which was a massive bonus. The accommodation itself was small but had everything we needed, the only negative i... More

A cosy, homely and welcoming pub with friendly staff. My husband and I had fish and chip which was the best I have ever had. It was served with delicious home made tartare sauce and mush peas. Dogs are welcome and we have already enquired for a Mother's Day booking.

Battled through floods to get to the pub for lunch. We were greeted with a roaring fire and friendly staff. Three of us had lamb casserole and the other member of our party had the game casserole, very enjoyable, good and hot, and reasonable priced. Clean loos, and decent car park. Will go again.

Having read a few reviews about the Foresters Arms I was a little concerned that they ranged from 'great place to stay' to 'awful place to stay' Well I have to say its a great place to stay, the welcome we got was first class, the service was spot on and the food was cracking. The room was good although... More

The pub is supported by locals but they don't bite! Good ale, open fire, books, maps and games for rainy days. A great spot for walks to the White Horse and Gormire Lake. A short drive into Thirsk with shops and restaurants etc. The pub is full of local wood furniture maker Robert Thompson's work with its signature carved mice... More

I am a "local drinker" at the Forresters Arms, but no one could know that from my "dress". I can understand Den & Sarah's frustration as detailed below, but would commend them to be more considerate in future. I was there during the incident they described and can confirm that the manager did serve someone a drink before checking-out Den... More

We were on a backpacking holiday so just in for one night on 18th November 2015. On arrival at about 16.15 we walked in tired and well ready for a shower and a rest as we had walked over 15 miles carrying our own gear. We paid £80 for b&b. First opinions were what a nice place however the bar... More

This is a traditional village pub with a restaurant and rooms. Stayed here for 2 nights b/b on a Wowcher deal. Our room #9 was of a good size and well furnished. The double bed was lovely and comfy and the radiators were piping hot (well this is November!!) with flat screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. The well stocked bar... More

Visited on a two night B&B voucher. Good breakfast and lunch snacks but the main meals could have been better. Our room was clean and cosy although the noise in the bar below until the early hours was annoying. Great location for some local walks
