I wanted a quiet place to stop for a few nights while visiting the area and saw this place on a website with a good description fitting what i wanted. It is a farm, half a mile off the road and away from any noise except for the farm itself. Total peace. The room was adequate, with lovely views from... More

Lovely farmhouse b&b. Great food. Great location. Took us back to our roots! Very helpful and friendly landlady. Beautiful roses in our room for our anniversary. Appreciated fresh milk and room fridge.

We stayed for one pre-booked night at Hall Farm and we enjoyed staying there, very, very much! The welcome with tea and delicious homemade scones in a beautiful accommodation with stunning views was personal and very friendly. We slept very well and woke up by the smell of a wonderful breakfast. We were sad we had to go to the... More

We've just spent 3 nights at this wonderful B & B and been treated to a wonderful Yorkshire welcome. Home baked scones on our arrival, home baked biscuits on the welcome tray and delicious home made bread and jams with a very tasty traditional full English breakfast each morning. And to accompany all of that some spectacular views across farming... More

I have just spent 3 nights at Hall Farm, a very charming working sheep farm. Virginia our hostess, was very accomodating during our stay. The original draw to the area for us was the Ampleforth Abbey and nearby York. I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality on this farm before and after long days out site-seeing. Virginia made us feel like family.... More

Excellent location with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Well located for many places of interest and only 30 miles from the coast. A very tranquil place to be.

I have just spent 2 weeks in Yorkshire and Durham, with a different B&B each night. Hall Farm was easily the number ONE place I stayed. A farm well away from the road, so nice and quiet - a friendly host, a very comfortable bed and a wonderful Yorkshire Breakfast which kept me going til evening! I won't comment on... More

I have been regularly staying at Hall Farm now for 8 years and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is looking for good accomodation and facilities in the area. The location is great; accommodation is first rate and the breakfasts the best you can get.!

I stayed in the most delightful Bed and Breakfast last week while travelling to Ampleforth in North Yorkshire. Having no pre booking I passed through the village of Gilling, which was very sleepy and quite over a small bridge and just then found a sign for Hall Farm The fields running up to the farm where filled with new baby...
