We really enjoyed our stay at hotel noir, overall it is a nicely done hotel in a great location and I would have happily paid more than our laterooms deal. There are, however, a couple of issues.
The room wasn't quite as clean as I would have liked but not too far off. I admire the aim of using local...

We stayed here on a special deal - £23 for a compact room (yes, it was small but not uncomfortably so) - and what a surprise the room was - it had everything we needed - even fresh milk in the minifridge - the shower was superb - hot and powerful - what more could we ask for - fluffy...

This was our second stay here but never again.. False advertising by saying "free mini bar" when in fact you get 2 bottles of TAP water, all because of the recession but we were never told this at time
of booking.
Our first stay was with friends and just thought the twin room hadn't been updated but second visit a...

Thank you for your review. Just to confirm that I have personally checked your reservation which was made with booking.com. Looking at our page on that site, it specifically does not include a mini-bar in the compact room description - we have taken these out in order to offer a really tight price for guests wanting the cheapest deal possible....

Stayed here for one night (Saturday) in 'four poster' room at a cost of £166 inc breakfast. Had high hopes after reading other reviews but was completely underwhelmed from start to finish. Location is as described and the walk into York is easy. The room was big but the fixtures and fittings were very poor quality. There was paint peeling...

Thanks for your review.
You are entitled to your opinions of course, but I must correct a few issues which are factually incorrect. Our toiletries are bought from Scotland, a lovely company called Scottish Fine Soaps, and are in refillable bottles as part of our environmental policy. Our meat is all locally reared and costs 3 times the price of...

We stayed at the hotel for only one night. It was a lovely stroll into York and really didnt take long 10 minutes at the most although we tend to walk quite quick. We arrived there 3 hours before check in but we were able to park up and keep our bags at the hotel and we just returned later...

Many thanks for your review. I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay.
I have spoken to the housekeeping team to remind them to take more care before entering when they knock. People often leave early and the team have a huge amount of work to do in only 3 hours so they can be a bit enthusiastic to get...

We were having a one night stay in York & picked Hotel Noir, good choice. We had a space in the hotel car park, our room was large & very comfortable. Guy on receptionwas really helpful with maps etc.
Only a 10 minute walk into the centre of York. Good breakfast next day, no problem about leaving the car in...

Many thanks for your review - it is lovely when people who have enjoyed their stay take the time to let others know about it. I understand your comment regarding the walls - unfortunately this a problem we inherited with the property in certain rooms and we have implemented a programme of installing extra sound insulation. Fortunately it is only...
