This hotel is ideally situated for touring Northern Scotland. We had a really pleasent stay. The staff is efficient, kind and really helpful ! They helped us organise some of our activities and had excellent advice. I definitely recommend it.

We've been to eat at the Brown Trout on numerous occasssions which is what this review is about really - the food. The menu suits all tastes including vegetarian options, and is very reasonably priced. If you are staying there they will make up packed lunches if you're going off to do a spot of fishing in Loch Watten. The... More

We spent two nights at this lovely hotel a short distance from the most northern tip of the UK mainland; 2 1/2 hours drive from Inverness. Quaint fresh decor and a very warm welcome made us feel at home immediately. The decoration is fresh and interesting. the hotel definitely has a fishing theme and we met others staying there who... Very clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good food and beer. Excellent service throughout our stay. Ideal base for touring surrounding area. Certainly recommend and look forward to staying here next time we're in this part of Scotland.

Visited the restaurant many times over past 5 years. Recently was end August and start of September. It never fails. The food is simple but plenty of it (what portions!) and beautifully cooked and presented. It states this is not a fast food place and time is taken to cook your meal fresh. It's worth the wait. Staff friendly and... More

We arrived at the hotel around 10am as we had been travelling all night. The owner could not have been more accomodating, providing us with tea and biscuits until the room could be cleaned. The following day the breakfast was freshly cooked and couldn't be faulted. If you are visiting Wick or the surrounding area we would thoroughly recommend.

Whilst kerbside appeal is lacking a warm & genuine welcome awaits in this compact, clean & comfortable privately owned hotel. There is an ongoing refurbishment programme the results of which are apparent indicating a willingness to ensure guests are comfortable. Food plentiful and of a good standard. A credit to Scottish hospitality.
