Not quite heaven but four of us (males) on a fishing trip stayed here for four days and nights during the recent hot spell. Landlady Donna met us and made us feel at home right away. The food was excellent throughout, the only gripe I had was a venison burger which, to be honest should have remained on the deer!... More

Had a long drive up to Caithness and decided to eat here. Is advisable to book a table as they were pretty busy and the restaurant was full, even on a grey wednesday night. Staff were really friendly and attentive. The meal was really really good so would definitely return at some future point.

We stayed here for 2 nights en route to Orkney. On previous visits, we have broken our journey further south nearer Inverness, but we wanted to visit the Grey Cairns of Camster, the Hill o'Many Stanes, and the Clearance Village on the coast between Helmsdale and Berriedale (all of which are well worth seeing). The Brown Trout serves as the... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night on a tour of the north of Scotland. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was cosy and clean with a plentiful supply of bottled water and biscuits. We ate in the bar that night and the food was delicious particularly the lamb shank which Is... More

3 of us stayed here on work in April. We were made to feel incredibly welcome by all 3 ladies on shift. From our arrival, to dinner, to breakfast we were looked after perfectly. My only disappointment was i couldn't remember the ladies names. The hotel hasn't been updated for a while but maybe that adds to the feeling of... More

Stayed one night while in Wick on work. Very friendly small hotel and great food. The evening meal, which we elected to have in the bar, was excellent and filling, but it was the morning full Scottish breakfast which is amazing. Beautiful, quality products and plenty of it... this is the first full Scottish breakfast I have been unable to... More

I have been visiting their restaurant for 5 years on an annual visit and it never fails to deliver. The food is fantastic. Beautifully cooked. Well presented. Portions are huge. Price very fair. If in area pop in. You will not be disappointed.

Get place to stay and eat if you're travelling to the highlands. Superb home cooked meals and potions that'll fill you Donna and the gang always offer a warm friendly welcome, This place is well worth a detour just to sample the food.

I stayed here for 3 nights while touring north Scotland. Nice quiet location (although not according to a cockerel that woke up at 4am!), perfect base for touring this area. Nice big room, comfortable bed, nice shower, clean. Owners very helpful, even did my laundry as I was on an ‘open-ended’ driving holiday. Home-cooked food, ‘real’ people in the bar,... More
