Glenn's and Alan are great hosts at this new country home on a very quiet side road. Our room was spacious and clean with a large comfortable bed and an en-suite bath. Glenys prepared us a wonderful Scotish breakfast. Easy to get to, just a few miles from Fortrose for a good evening meal.

I was fortunate to stay at Birchwood for 2 nights whilst on business in the area. A very warm welcome from Glenys and a delicious tray with a pot of tea and a piece of the most chocolatey, chocolate cake with cream, which was very welcome after a very long drive. My room was very spacious with a balcony overlooking... More

Found Birchwood after a google search of the area, and so please I did. Very welcoming on arrival, shown to my room, offered a drink as well as some great recommendations on where to eat that night. The accommodation, well what can I say, Better than some 5 star hotels I have been in. The room was large, airy with... More

Service Glenys & Alan are very attentive and effective hosts. They are most welcoming , both at booking and upon arrival. Glenys cooked a very tasty full Scottish Breakfast and provided her own home made bread for the toast which was very good! The Room The room was most comfortable & clean as was the well equipped en suite. Location... More

Birchwood bed and breakfast was our first stop on a one week vacation to the Scottish highlands that began in Inverness. Our host and hostess, Alan and Glenys, were warm and welcoming, and made us feel right at home in their home. Our accommodation, was spacious and included an en suite bathroom. All were exceptionally clean and well cared for.... More

From my initial enquiry to our check out, Glenys and her husband were warm, helpful and friendly. They have a stunning property set in a beautiful peaceful location and both rooms we booked were immaculate and very comfortable and had great attention to detail. We also were offered use of a large sitting room with wood burning stove which was... More

Birchwood may be a little difficult to find, but luckily our hostess Glenys had mailed us directions and we found it right away. Once again we received a warm Scottish welcome and were given a lovely twin room on the first floor. The weather was excellent and we were able to sit on the terrace and enjoy the serene garden... We spent 2 nights on the Black Isle on holiday with my sister and hubby. Always, when looking for a B and B, you are always a little anxious as to the quality and welcome you will receive. We can only reinforce the previous review comments. Lovely place, welcoming hosts, great food, comfortable beds and rooms - what more can... More

Following a long drive it was great to receive a warm welcome from Glenys and her delicious homemade cake was a treat. Our room was spotless and comfortable and the fresh milk in the room and fresh coffee was a nice addition. Glenys' porridge was delicious and my son loved the scotch pancakes. Birchwood is a real home from home... More

I cannot recommend Birchwood highly enough! I stayed with my family (husband and two young children) for a week in August 2011, and it was bliss. We had both bedrooms, whoch are opposite each other across the handing. The children slept in one and we had the other. The children were comfortable knowing that they could come across to us...
