Located in the Grove Hill mining area, little remains of a prosperous railway/mining town except for this hotel. The bar in in one small section of the building, the rest contains a large collection of items from the areas historical mining & railway history. While some would list it as junk, it was interested to see the various items, including... More

It's a wee way off the main drag and that's a bonus! It means it's not dumbed-down with grey nomads and their caravans and attracts only the intrepid traveller, outback locals. It is a way interesting, eclectic place and really what the Aussie outback is about till it was over-run with European backpackers. 'm sure it won't be every-ones cuppa... More

2 couples camped for 2 nights behind the pub. Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Nice cool beer and chat with Joe. Unfortunately now the historic Grove Hill is badly in need of TLC. After visiting about 20 years ago, we found that the place was tired and we were disappointed that the old accommodation had been dismantled and now holds... More

We love this little pub .. We have visited a couple of times over the last 10 years. It is basic, there are no frills but it is an authentic old Australian pub. Love the atmosphere...and the local characters. We spent ANZAC day here last year and it was just the best day ever. This time we went for the... More

After living in the Northern Territory for 21 years, finally got to visit this awesome little pub yesterday. A very interesting little place, worth the trip. Great characters, friendly folk, stopped for lunch and a few peaceful hours. Can't wait to go back and do the free camping and free barbecue at the end of the month.

Once a month on a Saturday night there is a free BBQ and camping night with live music and open mic. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and the BBQ is generous and delicious prepared by friends and family of the owner. It's a classic regular event and worth attending if you want to getting amongst the social life of an... More

This hotel is basically a tin shed in the middle of nowhere, but it's well worth the 16 kilometre detour from the Stuart Highway just to see the walls which are covered with dust laden memorabilia from years gone by. Stan, the owner, has done a great job with the collection, but with the recent passing of his wife Mary,... More
