We stayed in the refurbished wing, in two modern and immaculately clean adjoining corner rooms (to accommodate parents and one child) on the second-floor. The rooms were faultless. Particularly enjoyed the freestanding Duravit bath tub. Our balcony overlooked the new outdoor pool, offering a vivid panorama of the surrounding mountains and villages and a postcard picture view of the medieval...

We are in the middle of a four night stay at Il Ciocco and love it so much we couldn't wait until check-out to leave a review. This resort is incredible!
As others have noted, Marriott recently took over and has been conducting renovations. The Marriott website says it was renovated in Winter 2011, but that isn't entirely accurate --...

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and made the following observations:
We requested and were given one of the refurbished Executive rooms, kingsized bed, small balcony, facing the valley. This room type was confirmed prior to arrival, and check-in and check-out was smooth and helpful.
The room was quite nice and tastefully refurbished as lynx46 has described, and...

Here for a meeting with my husband. We booked a room with a king bed, but the reservations were mishandled and we were given a room with two twin beds. The beds are bolted to the wall, and so can't be pushed together. We can just hold hands from across the beds...how romantic. One staff member was great trying to...

I was at the same conference as doormouse2 - but luckily I got a refurbished room in the main building, facing the valley [see photo], with a balcony and beautiful bathroom with walk-in marble shower. The beds were duvet-covered; bathrobes and slippers provided. As noted, the weather was not cooperative, but once in a while there was sun. I'd been...

I attended a recent conference based in this hotel. This is the second time I have been here for this purpose. The weather was truly atrocious as in 2008 and typical for this time of year. However, the time I had a beautiful room (405), although at the back of the hotel with no view. This didn't matter as the...

I stayed here for a conference. The location was very picturesque but there really was nowhere to go on foot from the hotel. The common areas were spacious and suitable. The room was quite large as well, but the beds were tiny, as can be expected in Europe I suppose.
Upon check-in my roommate and I realized that they had...

We spent 2 weeks in Italy, covering Rome, Lucca, Pisa, Venice, Florence, Siena, Orvieto and various other smaller towns, but our stay in Il Ciocco was the most relaxing, wonderful, and memorable! All staff were very friendly, and the hotel GM went out of his way to make our stay memorable and comfortable. During our few days there, we would...

It's remote, and a bit difficult to find, but worth it. We had a corner suite on the fifth floor, and from our wrap-around balcony, we had a glorious view of the mountains and little towns all around. They are in the process of renovation, so it was a bit noisy during the day, but very restful at night. We...
