My husband and I camped here for four nights this past July. Although backcountry camping is more our style, this Campground by the Lake was right on the money with our Lake Tahoe agenda. It was nice to wake up to the smell of the many tall pine trees, which tower over the campground. Let’s just say finding a spot... More

Great location- convenient to services- across the highway from the Lake, easy walk. I like to watch current event news. Satellite is very difficult to receive unless you have a portable with long RG 58 cable. It would be nice to add local cable TV. GREAT PLACE

We stayed at campground by the lake for 4 nights Aug10-14. We were in site B23. It was a good site. All sites in the B loop are very wide open and close to each other. It worked out well for us tho because we were staying next to our family in the next site. Showers are free but there... More

We went up to the lake for 2 days with our van conversion in late June. The place was nearly empty where we parked, which was very close to a bathroom that we had to ourselves. We didn't need hook-ups and it ran us $24.00 for the night. We just needed a place to park for the night with a... More

This is a large not too densely packed RV camp in the middle of pine trees adjacent to Lake Tahoe (just the other side of the road). It is very close to the centre of South Tahoe City and hence gets some traffic noise. Most pitches seemed of good size, ours had power but no water nor drains (not a... More

Pros: Good location for south lake Tahoe, nice people, reasonable price, right next to skating rink, community swimming pool and nice large playground, lot of spots with space and trees, nice feel Cons: If you're near the road, there's a lot of continuous traffic all day and night; trucks at night We've stayed here several times over the years. You... More

First time at this location. This place would without a doubt be 5 star if it weren't for a couple of things. 1. No security at night time means you are a target. Since we were so close to the Lake and the road, 2nd night there someone came into our site and stole my $500 Trek Mountain Bike. Even... More

Right across from the lake. Everyone at the campground are great. Very reasonable price for a site. Have plenty room between sites. Not on top of each other. Lots for the kids to do. Close to the town and markets. Great place to sit around a campfire at night.

On a budget as travelling California. Came across this camp first and as the staff were so friendly and helpfull we decided to stay 4 nights in total. Great location and even though the camp is situated right beside a main road you really don't hear all that much. My main surprise is just the staff always happy and will... More
