Are you dreaming of the perfect hotel for your Tahoe vacation? WE make dreams come true....With our modern plush furnishings, princess quality bedding and excellent customer service, you will be treated like royalty. Family owned and operated, from reservation to housekeeping!
Terrible experience!! 1. Carpet is dirty, damp, and sticky. 2. TV /cable doesn’t work. We don’t really use it but this show how mismanaged this place is. 3. Cold water in the faucet doesn’t work. 4. Bathroom is dirty and wall is moldy and paint falling off from the wall. 5. Paper thin walls. We couldn’t sleep at all, we can hear people talking from other rooms, next to us, above us. All over. When we’re trying to sleep, the room next to us taking a shower and the water from the pipe was so loud that it shook the wall. 6. At 200+ a night. Stay AWAY! Find better value somewhere else.

A hidden gem! Walking distance and close to restaurants, grocery stores and beaches but just far enough from the village traffic. The rooms are clean + cozy. The staff is amazing and the owner, Sam, is so sweet and accommodating! They offer outdoor games, fire pits and cornhole too. Coming from a hotel snob, do yourself a favor and ignore the bad reviews. It’s everything you need in Tahoe.

The room was very dirty. There was an old pizza slice in the fridge from the previous guests. The fridge was on display and the water from the fridge was in the room. The furniture is very outdated and has a lot of wear and tear. I had to damp wipe the tables first. The outdoor pool is not usable. The whole hotel needs urgent renovation. There are no contact persons on site. I can't explain the previous positive reviews. The photos of the host of the rooms do not correspond to the actual condition. I have traveled across the country for over 4 weeks and have never experienced such a horrible stay anywhere.

H stayed at the alder inn, after making reservations 3 months before on the phone , with the manger Sam First, I’d like to point out that the pool, which is featured here, and many other sites..has not been functional for 2 yrs..and now stand empty, the jacuzzi is also empty with a broken cover, whole area is empty except for trash..second, our room stank of cigarettes, carpet so dirty it was sticky …when we asked to be moved Sam refused, saying they were booked..I saw many check out, and new guests check in while we were there.., so we could have been moved..The management dosnt care I’m not sure if all such contactless” places are so hands off,..but this one surely is..stay away, if you’re used to caring hosts, you won’t find that here

We book this place for a family wedding in July weeks ahead. Unfortunately, my wife injured her hand a few days before our stay, so we were forced to cancel 3 days before, or a day after our cancellation period expired. We were assured in email that we would be refunded given our situation. Unfortunately, we never got our refund

This is an older property in a good location under new management (ownership?). Rooms show their age, but are clean and reasonably priced for the area. An initial problem with the keypad was resolved, so after that I felt safe as a woman traveling alone. Rooms have a microwave, mini-fridge and fans. Upstairs rooms also have wall air conditioning. It was mostly quiet at night. Pool is currently closed. There are outside conversation areas (fire pits weren’t working) with comfortable seating to relax or visit with other guests. It is a short walk to Whole Foods, several restaurants and the Skyline Marina. Don’t expect luxury and you won’t be disappointed. I would stay again.

I hate leaving reviews like this, but some honesty is needed here. I felt duped by the photos provided online vs. what we saw/experienced in real life. - No A/C. When we arrived the temperature in our room was 79 and continued to climb up to 83. While there was a box fan and ceiling fan, unfortunately the position of the window and an outlet made it so that we could not put the box fan in the window to draw out the hot air. The ceiling fan was also switched to the "winter time" position, meaning that it was further dispersing the hot air. After flipping the switch, we could feel the breeze, unfortunately it wasn't a very strong one. The temperature in the room never got below 75 and for Tahoe during the summer, this is too uncomfortable. - The shower pressure is very inconsistent. It would randomly sputter and slowly diminish so that we would be standing nearly at the wall by the end of our quick 5-7 min showers. - The lighting was very dim throughout the room. Our bedside table lamps did not turn on. Our ceiling fan had one working lightbulb and the lighting above the sink was so dim that it made getting ready difficult. - The coffee machine showed viable signs of not being cleaned and only decaf coffee was provided in our room. Also the pictures show a pool and hot tub, but it was drained while we were there and by the looks of the weeds, the pool hasn't been open for years. With all these letdowns, I also can't help but complain about the price. For the 2 night stay it was $430. It's almost insulting. This place seems like it's under new management and they still have some work to do. The owner reaches out and is easy to get ahold of (just make sure you have signal) and you can't beat the location. I wish this place the best of luck but some modernizing is needed before we return.…

We arrived in a storm with no reservation. It was last minute - the roads were closing and we were actually supposed to stay in Reno, NV. A last minute phone call confirmed the availability of the room and we pulled off the road into the motel desperate to get out of the snow. Augberine came out and shoveled a spot clean for us to pull into and then showed us to our room - all with a welcoming smile. The room was great - exactly what we wanted with a beautiful view of the snow outside. The beds were super comfy and the heater was warm and reassuring after the trauma of getting stuck in the high Sierras with a blizzard for company. I want to thank the fine folk who run this place and want to assure them that my family and I will definitely stay with them again every time that I come to South Lake Tahoe!…

THE BEST IVE SEEN (as far as inns are concerned) Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a 5 star hotel. But if you’re looking for bang for your buck, this is your spot. Safe location, clean rooms, surprisingly well decorated, and (of course) very affordable. Will be coming back, hope you do too!
