This was one of the cheapest places we stayed and was great! Comfy bed, nice to have a fridge and a microwave! We were only in Lake Tahoe for two nights and spent a whole day on the beach using our free beach pass from Big Pines which was an added bonus! Short walk to the beach, to all the... More

I stayed here for one night (August 2014). I was attending an outdoor concert at Harvey's. I checked in around 4pm. Based on other reviews, I requested a 2nd floor room. Pros: great water pressure, plenty of hot water, the small fridge/freezer works well (froze my water, YAY!), comfy bed, clean room, plenty of complimentary toiletries, regular size coffee pot... Stayed here with my two sons for one night before our week-long condo rental was ready. It's your basic Lake Tahoe Hotel close to the Casinos. We were there for a baseball tournament, but the room had plenty of space for all of our gear and a roll-a-way (there were only King beds left). The breakfast in the AM is... More

My family and I have been staying at Big Pines for several years. I have watched it go through many changes, but non better than when they hired Rueben as the manager of this motor lodge. His staff is always on top of everything and there to assist you anyway they can. From the ladies who clean our rooms daily,... More

We stayed here to attend a concert at Harvey's outdoor arena. I selected Big Pines because it was close to the venue and was reasonably priced. It was just a basic motel. It was clean and well-run. The style of the rooms was a little bit dated, but they were in good condition. It had kind of a rustic feel... More

Quiet, clean and even with double beds the rooms don't feel too crowded unlike some other hotel rooms. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is walking distance to Nevada casinos and restaurants on both sides of the State Line, but far enough from car traffic noise. There are picnic tables and a small pool with tables and... Our first room had a one inch section of the carpet missing for 10 feet. After changing rooms, we were satisfied. Then our toilet would not flush and the ironing board was broken. They fixed it but several other people had toilet issues. The front desk never informed us about a beach pass even though we asked for directions to... More

Your basic room. Bed and bath. Bathroom shower stalls could stand to be replaced as stains are on the shower floors. Kind of gives the impression that they are full of mold. Otherwise, everything was a.o.k. Good bed, t.v. worked fine, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, work table, etc. Sheets, towels, and floors were all clean. Small continental breakfast in the... More

I'm seriously conflicted about this property. The location is near the big casino's (5-minute walk) and it has a cool atmosphere, but here are my pro's and con's: PRO'S: This property has that "east coast shore motel" feel. It's just two stories and is surrounded by other smaller properties that are, for the most, well kept and not seedy at... More
