They have a some point every day at 18-19. And it is noisy and annoying as H***. Dont understand why they need it at hours when everybody is at their rooms. And they dont have cotrol of which rooms are rented and not. Was just coming out of the shower and suddenly an unknown man opened the door. Because they... More

Hi, I am very sorry about what happened to you. Please accept our deepest apologies, we take fully responsibility for what happened. A new employee made a mistake by sending somebody to your room, and again I apologize for that. Rest assure that nobody has been robbed or anything like that ever at the Big Pines. Again, I apologize. I... More

The location is great, but you pay the price with an old building with paper thin walls and ceilings. Our room did have a fridge and microwave at least. The pool is not open in the winter and there is no hot tub. This place is pet friendly, which is cool. Unfortunately we were next to two barking chihuahuas. I... More

Hotel staff was very pleasant, continental breakfast was sufficient. If you stay here get an upstairs room. Floors upstairs are noisy because they are cheap wood, but good if you have animals. Fireplace hooked to heater was nice. Room was clean, beds were ok. Overall nice cheap hotel, great for animals and a couple of nights stay, good location to... More

Where to start? First, to be fair, we've stayed in Tahoe our whole lives, for a myriad of occasions. We've been during high and low season. We've been there for romantic getaway's and to host a group of 90 High schoolers for ski week and everything in between. We thought we knew what to expect from the area. I guess... More

Big Pines is a great place to stay at very affordable prices. The rooms are clean, and well kept. The Wifi was great and very strong in our room. The location is awesome... A couple minutes of walking will have you in the Heavenly Village or in the casinos. They also boast refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms, this comes... More

If you don’t care about it looking fancy then you’re fine. It seemed more like a place for a college student. It’s very basic, clean, inexpensive, etc. The breakfast was ok. Not a lot of variety. It’s around the block and across the street from the Heavenly Ski Resort, so it’s convenient.

I stayed at the Big Pines Mountain House for about 4 days. People were friendly (at least over the phone, did not have much interaction with them in person). I am highly allergic to dust, cats, dogs, you name it, so I requested a room that didn't have any pets previously in it or that was squeaky clean. My room... More

We decided to go ski at Heavenly on the fly Martin Luther King weekend and needless to say everything was sold out - even the Marriott so we decided to book a "suite" at this lodge - which I prefer to call a motel. The location is great - probably the only plus about this place, you can walk to... More

We stayed there for two reasons: first we wanted to arrive on Dec31 and all other hotels around charged a little fortune for this night, second we were skiing and it's close to Gondola. Never again, though. Hotel is poorly maintained and cleaned. Problems with heating and wifi as described by other reviewer is a norm. Front desk is mostly... More

Big Pines is conveniently located less than a block and half from the gondola and less than a block from Harvey's Casino. The bed and linins were very comfortable. The shower was large and hot. So what the hotel is a little older, most all the lodging in South Tahoe is older. Highly recommend Big Pines to the price conscious... More
