I have camped in several spots in Tahoe. I previously avoided Camp Richardson because it was right off the road in a busy area. But last week i needed to find a place that could accomodate tent camping as well as my parents who like to stay in hotels now. Camp Richarson was perfect. My 74 and 81yo parents stayed... More

We stayed there with two RVs. It is nice, shady and not too far from the lake. At the lake, you have a restaurant (which we did not try) and a marina where you can rent kayaks and motorboats (which we did both). Facilities are above average for a campground (compared to the state and federal campgrounds). The only drawback... More

I enjoyed a lovely meal on the terrace of the restaurant overlooking Lake Tahoe. The food was good and the service was good as well. While the tables were close together, it was still a very pleasant meal.

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights of summer tent camping. It was our first time camping at Camp Richardson, although we are frequent Tahoe visitors. We arrived on a Wednesday and were expected to stay through Monday. Our first 2 nights were wonderful. We were in a spot in the Badger's Den (on the lake side).... More

Rocked up in our little campervan and checked in to our camp site quickly. Nice area with lots of shade, plenty of room and good facilities. Got very smokey with everyone lighting fires and the toilets/showers often had queues but overall the location on the lake was great.

As a first time camper, Camp Richardson was sheer perfection. Beautiful sites especially at the Badger's Den. Clean bathrooms and warm showers nearby. Walking distance to the beach and excellent location for bike rides in any direction around the lake. The ice cream shop is FANTASTIC. Top 2 ice cream experiences on the South Shore. We will return to Camp... More

We stay in the cabins every year. The year round cabins are best. Fun place to be outdoors in a camping environment. This is a old school family camp ground...if you keep that in mind and that is what you are look it for..this place is awesome! Boating rentals at your finger tips, ice cream place, coffee and a place... More

Very nice location, close to restaurants and South Lake Tahoe. Gas station 5 minutes away. Good family camping with kids. You can have your tent on grass if you lucky :-) Walking distance to Pope beach, beautiful bike trail next to camping. We did not stay here - we went on their 1pm Rum runner cruise. It is 1.5 hours long and gently cruises up to Emerald bay. Nice relaxing speed. Not a big narrative tour - just some info given in the bay about Vikingsholm. Rum runner drinks were great - not too sweet ($8 each onboard)! At the end of... More

The resort staff and forest rangers ran a bear out of camp, at 3am, with a air horn. Really!?! Woke up hundreds of people while they did this for hours. Ruined my next day. Will never stay there again.
