Have been bringing my family to Camp Rich for the past 13 summers. Stay in the cabins closest to the lake. Beautiful view to wake up to each morning. Can be a bit chaotic/crowded/noisy during summer holidays (ie...4th of July), but the crowds clear out the next day and it returns to its beautiful self. Highly recommend for families, especially... We go every February with a group that takes over the whole place. Cabins vary in size from super small one room to medium sized 2 bedrooms. Gorgeous views of the lake. Many cabins have full kitchens. The rooms in the lodge right on the highway are pretty small and a few have shared bathrooms. Walls are thin but street... More

Stayed here for a family wedding. It was really beautiful being a couple minutes walk to the lake and mountains. The hotel room was really nice with unique wooden furniture. The bathroom was a bit small but did the job. The sink faucet needed to be replaced though. Lots of nice walking trails near by.The food at the general store... More

Hands down this is the spot to be in the winter. During the summer it seems kind of busy and chaotic. There are several small historic cabins right on the lake, come mid-week, mid winter and you almost have the place to your self. The cabins themselves are rustic not fancy at all but fit the place perfectly.

Camp Richardson is actually a large complex with: a "hotel," one and two bedroom log cabins, tent grounds, a general store, a rental for bikes/kayaks/etc, marina, and ice cream store/coffee house. I stayed here for a wedding and did not know cabins were an option, or I would have picked that. Instead, we were in the hotel and it was... More

The problem with camp Richardson is that it attracts campers who just want to party into the early morning hours and with no security patrols you are pretty much left to the mercy of that type of crowd. Had to call the police a couple of times to shut down parties that got out of hand. Bottom line if you... More

I cannot think of a better place to spend some summer vacation time than the Lake Tahoe area. And the Camp Richardson resort gives you the opportunity to live in the beauty of Lake Tahoe. They have many options, from a hotel stay to cabin rental, to tent camping, to the RV Park. We tried staying at the cabins this... More

We went tent camping here and after reading all of the reviews about the bears I was freaking out and almost didn't want to go, but I did not see or hear one bear our entire trip!!! My boyfriend and I got there and loved how it was set up with the general store, the ice cream shop and the... More

I thought there was a small chance a bear might come visit the campground...BUT they come every night and roam the campsites all night long. They bang on the metal bear lockers trying to pry them open, and one tried to get in my tent. You can hear things crashing to the ground (we even heard bottles breaking at 1:00... More

We had 3 campsites for a large family with lots of kids. We planned on staying for three nights. We left early because bears were in our campsites the 2 nights we stayed. Baby bear tried to get into my daughter's tent and she used her air horn (for scaring bears). Didn't phase the bear. The bear left when we... More
