Perfect location in South Lake Tahoe, Blue Jay Lodge is an old motel that could have been sweet but was awful. The room appeared to be recently painted, big tv, huge room and the desk clerk was friendly. Unfortunately it also came with an empty pool, stained sheets and blankets, a footprint on the wall by the bed, filthy bathroom... More

We stayed there one night despite all the negative reviews. It was very convienent. We were going to a concert at Harvey's and it was a block away. Ask for room 103. It was clean. The carpet was a little old but other then that, it looked good. Some of the furniture was a little old, others looked fairly new.... More

There for a wedding party I was literally left out in cold two kids as they would not rent to me. I did not like the Clerks attitude, I called police, he was being hostile to me and wife and two kids.

Chose this hotel for proximity to stateline casinos and heavenly village. If this is what you want for your visit to tahoe, instead of high end property or camping, the property offers basic accommodations and friendly staff. We requested a quiet room. We got a first floor room right beside the stairs to 2nd floor. Spent 2 nights trying to... More

We stayed at the Blue Jay last weekend and you can't beat the location to the Harvey's outdoor concert venue! The beauty of the concert background is so pretty nestle in the trees. The lodge is a little worn out and I think they are trying to remodel. The place is clean and the beds are comfortable. The managers are... More

We have stayed in many hotels/motels, both good and bad, and I try very hard to give them all a fair shake, but when it comes to being dirty, it's pretty hard for me to be open minded. It appears the Blue Jay is in the process of updating their rooms, but this seems to be at the expense of... More

I do not know where to start. I think a lot of the ratings might be tied to the price they paid for the room. I have seen a low of $39.00 to an outrageous $379/night! This all seems to be related to general room availability in the Lake Tahoe area. I paid $150.00/night. Our room was located the "back... More

What can I say that's nice about this motel... Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was below average. All of the furniture looked like something I sold at a yard sale after using for 20 years. One night stand, with one lamp. Busted lampshade. Small sitting table with one chair (there were two of us). Asked for 1:00 pm early... More

Buyer be aware, you get what you pay for. I'm sure there are much worse motels, but this one is pretty disappointing. I was in Tahoe for work. Planned to spend 2 nights. Pro: I've been to Tahoe a number of times and feel pretty safe most of the places I go in the area. I did feel safe at... More

We are on the last night of a 4 night stay at Blue Jay Lodge. Everything has been ok. Check in was a breeze, nice staff. Room was ok. It had a strange smell when we first entered so we left the window open the whole time. Smell seemed to have come from air conditioning unit so we kept it... More
