We first experienced the Valhalla back in 2007 during our family reunion, and ever since that day this was the place to stay. Right on stateline just a short walk to all of the action. Clean, cozy, and best of all, its right on the lake!! So if your in South Shore and need a place to relax and unwind,... More

We were shopping for rates and checked around for a Saturday night stay when rates are generally higher in Tahoe. Inspected Quality Inn, Best Western and a few others. Then we got to Valhalla, beautiful location on the lake with large balconies overlooking the lake. Grounds, pool, and reception were clean and tidy (although nothing special). So rather than reading... More

This is one of my favorite places. Yes the rooms were last decorated in the 70s but my rooms have always been very clean. The view is amazing so who is looking at the decor anyway, The hotel seems like it is isolated however it is just a short walk to the casinos, shopping and restaurants. This continues to be... More

We stayed 2 nights and attended an annual golf tourtament. The grounds look great and the motel is 50 yards from a private lake tahoe beach. Your stay includes access to the beach. The room is another thing. The 9 pillow cases all had stains on them. One pillow case had a bloody booger on it. Most had mascara (I... More

This hotel certainly is by the beautiful lake Tahoe, just walk across the street and you are there on the sandy shore of the lake. Drive 3 to 5 minutes and you are in center of all kinds of activities that you can enjoy or just walk for 2 or 3 blocks away. The room is pretty clean, the terrace... More

DIRTY, NASTY, FLITHY, A group of friends & family stayed her for the weekend. The rooms are just disgusting the carpet was full of soiled stains. We literally never took our shoes off. The bedding was GRIMY and it stunk! the room had the worst smell ever undescribable. The restroom needs a make over also, old sink, floors, tub, and... More

The view from the lake view rooms is fantastic, you are as close to the beach as is possible in South Shore. That view is worth $75. Unfortunately this hotel is about 25 years past it's prime, so the room is worse than a Motel 6.and worth less, so all in all it isn't worth $100 to say there. Unfortunately... More

Not quite pristine but close enough. These days the Royal Valhalla draws us through South Lake Tahoe's traffic and a myriad of lodging choices. Turn left at the state line and drive three blocks to the lake. There sits the Royal Valhalla, a modern three story gem just past yesterday's motels. A room with a view gives you 180 degrees... More

We got a very good deal, price wise. Being across the street from the lake is really nice. However, as the other reviews said it's not clean and it seems like the owners are just letting the place go without maintenance. I wish I had read the reviews before we went. We also booked online and prepaid for the whole... More
