I stayed at The Blue Lake Inn twice ski season. A short walk over to the Heavenly Gondola, and there's a shopping center also within walking distance with a Starbucks, a great Pizza Place, and a Raleys grocery store that has a hot/salad bar. WiFi worked better in the first room I stayed in, which was closer to the office.... More

We are skiers (40-100 folks) from a Portland, Oregon (Bergfreunde.org). 600 member activities club, with variety beyond skiing. I have stayed at the Blue Lake Inn for about 7 years (Sunday thru Friday) at Tahoe South Shore because B.L.Inn is a decent motel, well-located, and great “bang-for-the-buck”. We carpool from Portland and travel to many DH/XC ski areas around the... More

I am a group leader for a ski and activities club in Portland, Oregon. For the last 22 years I have been leading a downhill and cross country ski trip to South Lake Tahoe. We’ve either stayed at a lot of motels on the California side over the years, or have checked them out for future use. For about the... More

Stayed at the Blue Lake Inn March 1, 2012 to ski Heavenly. The location is terrific. You are literally closer to the gondola lift than if you drive there and park. Also only about 3 blocks from the casinos. The rooms are very basic. The furniture/tv is old and not the most attractive, but we just wanted a good value,... More

We decided to make a last minute trip to Tahoe last weekend and to bring the dogs with us. I found Blue Lake Inn via yelp as being dog friendly. So we decided to give it a try. They charged us $20/night extra for the 2 dogs. So approx $90/night total. Overall the motel is in good shape. They just... More

The rooms aren't anything spectacular, but I love the sitting area outside where you can BBQ and just lounge around. Its a very relaxing place to stay. An easy walk to the Lake, the shops and restaurants of the Ca side, and the casinos of the NV side of Tahoe. You couldn't ask for anything better location wise, unless you... More

Can't beat the location here - 3 minutes walking to Heavenly gondola. My friend and I just walked out with our ski boots on and didn't have to even rent a locker. So easy.
