the location itself was already rejuvenating. our alpine-chic-african-inspired room was awesome. the whole property has a touch of africa but to a minimum which makes it very special specially the wellness area. it was quiet small but the there were enough relax rooms. assorted tees and fresh fruits were missing. the wellness package 2 to africa was not only affordable... The location is wonderful. The service poor: information on included services e.g. restaurant services, wellness services etc not provided at arrival I had to ask for it. The initial room was very poor, the balcony completly dirty. The dinner service very slow, the last evening I had to ask for the menu and wait more than 45min for the drinks... More

Lovely location opposite lake, room a little dated but comfortable with balcony and lovely ensuite. Breakfast was excellent - amazing choice. Superb spa area where lady who showed us round could not have been more helpful and even apologised for her English which was really good and put to shame our virtually non existent German! Very good stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a cycling package tour and could not believe our good fortune. The room was very comfortable, though the lighting was a bit subdued and the shower pressure was not great (minor quibbles). The food was fantastic and the staff were very attentive, quickly learning our preferences (would that be a decaffeinated... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Great location and convenient access to the small lake opposite. Given the African/Bavarian theme to the hotel, we were lucky enough to have an African buffet one evening: a great selection of food and the highlight of our stay at this hotel. The other evening was a more formal meal which, whilst being... More

Charming looking property looking directly over lake. Back of hotel dedicated to out of this world mud spa treatments. A common site is of guests going down in bathrobes for treatments. They do impressive mud poultice famous in the region. Rooms charming and cozy with great views. Interesting mix of African and Bavarian decor that reflects the owner's love of... More

A typical example of the Ring chain of hotels, which are reliably good. This one has a lovely location overlooking the lake - you can walk straight out from the hotel and enjoy a gentle stroll around the shore. However, this is not the place for nightlife or retail therapy - it's all about peace and quiet and nature. Rooms... More

An odd mix of African and Bavarian / health resort but comfortable enough with decent food. We were not impressed at being sat at a table with two complete strangers without even being asked beforehand. We were given a room which had building work outside which started at 7am (!) The hotel must have anticipated or received complaints from other... More

Dear guest, first of all: We have made mistakes and we are sorry. Sorry about the outside works - but some problems admitted us no delay. We even have to apologize for the seating arrangement - that is not our usual way. We will check what happened here and we will avoid this mistake in the future. Thank you very... More

We stayed here as part of a two day package to attend the Oberammergau Passion Play. We were met at the nearest station and driven to the hotel. After a long journey this was very welcome. Our greeting at reception was in English and the explanations of meals at the hotel, arrangements for transport to and from Oberammergau were all... More
