First impressions were not great, could smell cigarette smoke when approaching office and hotel appears a bit run down, But, rooms are very spacious and clean and we were upgraded to a spa suite at no cost, we didn't even request this so it was a nice surprise. Good location in town. Stayed for one night on the way to... More

Viv at the front desk was lovely. It is definitely an older hotel and budget orientated but clean and tidy, bed was good and the bathroom had been renovated in the last year or so. There was a band playing at the pub next door but they were quiet by 10.00pm. I paid about $110 and felt it was money... More

The downright concerning: 1. While I was away at the nearby pub for a few hours, I left the bathroom fan on. On return, I was shocked to find the entire room entrapped in a fetor of stale tobacco. I'm not sure how the fan helped summon the odours, but it was uninhabitable (unless you're into that kind of thing,... More

This is a two hotel nestled away in the small village of Meeniyan. That said, it is clearly understands its purpose and role and does it exceedingly well. My wife and I stayed here overnight while we enjoyed the culinary delights of Meeniyan (see separate reviews about Trulli Woodfire Pizzeria and Moo’s at Meeniyan). Our room was a good size... More

Our spa room was roomy and great to have a separate shower as well as the spa. Motel garden is pleasant and the camp kitchen good for food prep. An easy stroll to everything in town, including the community hall. Meeniyan is a cute country town.

Night one of our 3 day hike along the #greatsouthernrailtrail was spent at Meeniyan. Slept one night at the Meeniyan Motel, sharing a twin room. We found it to be excellent. Clean, spacious bathroom, plenty of hot water, very friendly owner and staff, and easy access. We really liked it. Sure it's not brand new, but it's great value for... More

Stayed here for a family function. The family room is great if you need lots of beds and dont mind the outdated decor. If you don't need such a large room then room 7 seems like a good choice as the bathroom is much larger and has been updated.

All our rooms have updated bathrooms. Room 7 that you mention is the spa suite which has an extra large bathroom. We purchased the motel recently and we are aware that some rooms need extra updating (new carpet in the family room and a new kitchen bench are planned). We have already repainted, updated furniture, purchased new linen and bedspreads.... More

For starters its not all that fair that we rate the Meeniyan Hotel too harshly given we have had so so many wonderful South Gippsland experiences that were the complete opposite of staying the night at a motel...in front of open fires...and big pots of minestrone soup in the winter and fresh salads from the garden in summer. So its... More

We have no record of a guest by this name staying at our motel so we are unsure if this is a genuine review. Guest mentions something about smoking in rooms. Our rooms are all non-smoking rooms, we have no awareness of guests smoking in the rooms and this guest did not bring anything to our attention. We are unsure... More

Very old rooms and not maintained, heater in main room but none in the room with three beds. Breakfast was ordered and one of us thought we would keep the eats not eaten for the next day, in the fridge, after our day we came back and they had taken the left breakfast.(which we paid for).

This is the second time we have stayed at the Meeniyan Motel. It is clean and well presented, provides privacy in a laid back environment. Meeniyan is a good central place to explore Wilson's Prom and surrounding area. There is some great eateries in walking distance of the motel, and the owner of the motel was able to organise a...
