My husband and I went for Sunday lunch, as guests of another couple. We have seldom been anyway so friendly. The three course lunch had plenty of choice, with generous portion sizes, and everything beautifully presented. I see some people have written negative reviews about the dated decor. Personally, I would rather eat delicious food served by a jolly and... More

We started off,not sure. We stuck with it, and are very pleased we did. The accommodation is quirky, the people who own and run it are absolutely lovely. Breakfast was brilliant, catering well for a gluten free diet. Look beyond the first impression to have a peacefully and character filled break. We will go again

The building is in need of much repair work and the bedrooms need re decorating. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast excellent value, well served with plenty of tea coffee toast etc. The building has suffered the ravages of age but feels welcoming. Bedrooms are clean, towels fresh and the complimentary tea/coffee facilities perfectly adequate... More

From the moment we first spoke with Nicola, the owner, about holding a family gathering (Wake) at the hotel to the time we left on the day we could not fault their attention to detail, the fantastic buffet, catering with no fuss or problem for specific dietary requirements of a family member , the friendliness of the staff and the... In a lovely location, this listed building is worth visiting for its friendly welcome and excellent food. We have been there many times for family meals and celebrations and always come away happy, relaxed and well fed. I've only made day visits so can't comment beyond that.

I went with a group of 14 to Fairlight Lodge for lunch, yes the place does need an update but the food was wonderful, beautifully cooked and served, the hosts were warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to returning in the better weather so can take sit and enjoy the lovely gardens.

Lovely old place! Dated but clean and a friendly welcome. Nice bar with pool table, smashing breakfast and 3 acres for the dog to run round. Not the Ritz but perfectly comfortable, and yes, we would stay again.

Lovely old house in beautiful situation. Agree some of it is dated and tired but my room (1) was clean and well equipped. Had two large dogs with me who were made very welcome and for which I only had to pay a small one-off charge. Direct access across road into the back of Hastings Country Park with over 800... More

I know it's best to book but we thought we would chance it. It's years since we last visited and had good value and a nice spot to stay. When we drove up in the afternoon we were shocked at the shabby state of this loverly old inn . It had been a loverly place for lunch on a sunny... More

I stayed at Fairlight Lodge during May 2013 and would like to highly recommend it to those looking for accommodation in this part of the world. Fairlight Lodge is idyllically situated at the end of a long carriage drive just meters from the renowned Fire Hills overlooking the Sussex coast line, yet just minutes from Hastings town center and the...
