I went with a group of 14 to Fairlight Lodge for lunch, yes the place does need an update but the food was wonderful, beautifully cooked and served, the hosts were warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to returning in the better weather so can take sit and enjoy the lovely gardens.

Lovely old place! Dated but clean and a friendly welcome. Nice bar with pool table, smashing breakfast and 3 acres for the dog to run round. Not the Ritz but perfectly comfortable, and yes, we would stay again.

Lovely old house in beautiful situation. Agree some of it is dated and tired but my room (1) was clean and well equipped. Had two large dogs with me who were made very welcome and for which I only had to pay a small one-off charge. Direct access across road into the back of Hastings Country Park with over 800... More

I know it's best to book but we thought we would chance it. It's years since we last visited and had good value and a nice spot to stay. When we drove up in the afternoon we were shocked at the shabby state of this loverly old inn . It had been a loverly place for lunch on a sunny... More

I stayed at Fairlight Lodge during May 2013 and would like to highly recommend it to those looking for accommodation in this part of the world. Fairlight Lodge is idyllically situated at the end of a long carriage drive just meters from the renowned Fire Hills overlooking the Sussex coast line, yet just minutes from Hastings town center and the... we came here a large group, for a wedding, -grounds are lovely (your better off outside away from the bitterness of the landlady) there is so much space to run around let the kids run off some steam. -the outside is gorgeous, against a clear blue sky we were lucky to have that day, it looked beautiful stone drive with... I was at a function and it was pretty crowded otherwise I would have taken some pictures to show the moth-eaten bar stools and threadbare carpet, the gents' toilet with its paint-spattered lino and what looked like home made tin urinals, sad plastic flowers everywhere and the bemused bar staff looking as if it was their first day on the... I do not normally bother to write reviews but I felt I had to redress the balance when I came across the only ( and excoriating ) review this hotel has had up to now. I have stayed in room 5 many times in the last few years and have always found Mrs Boulter and her son- in- law and... More

The stay started well I was in room 5 Later I was approached about a 'mix up' and moved to room 2 - bonus it has a bath . . . downside it was frustratingly shallow The bed was comfy with plenty of extra pillows I didn't bother with the TV Towels were fluffy - just a complimentary bar of... More
