Found this pub whilst staying at the Flackley Ash Hotel; great find. Friendly, attentive staff, good service and fabulous food whilst reasonably priced. Warm, dog friendly pub with real ales and local feel. Brilliant.

Stayed here for a 2-night break and found the accommodation very pleasant and clean, the food was great - the pies were excellent - and breakfast were plentiful. The location is good being just outside Rye and close to many other places of interest.

Stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the South Coast and found it to be an ideal base for visitng the surrounding towns and villages. The pub has two rooms in what was the Stable block. Our large room had a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, television and lots of information on the local area. We ate... More

A lovely little find. Recently renovated and run like a bistro. The food was excellent and a little different. The chef very obviously loves his job. Very friendly and attentive service. We will definitely go back.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay at the Bell Inn, and cannot rate it highly enough. We were greeted warmly on our arrival and asked if we needed assistance with any bags, before being led to out home for the weekend - The Tack Room. Despite the chilly January temperatures the room was warm and cosy thanks to... More

From the outside it looks like another pleasant country pub and it is. But go in and sample the food and you will get a wonderful surprise. The menu is interesting, the food all home cooked and delicious. The pies are especially good.

Went out on a Monday night as it was (actually still is) my wife's birthday. We expected decent pub-grub, perhaps a little better than average at best. What we received was way better than that. Lovely well prepared and presented food in nice surroundings, sitting by the first log fire of the season (for us anyway). I had the scallops... More

We have eaten here a number of times and the food is always excellent. The Sunday roasts are to die for, as are the desserts. All the desserts are home made on the premises and are simply divine! The chocolate brownie really is something special. Lunches at the bell are also wonderful and very good value for money. I recently... More

Mum and Dad decided that I needed a well deserved break after having chased many cats and caused many headaches through incessant barking. Obviously my choice of location depended on it being parent friendly, lots of good walking opportunities and also my weakness for a saucer of real ale. The choice of 2 rooms are actually a converted barn and... More
