Even though it was a sadly typical English May day - wet and misty - the welcome was warm at Hambelton Hall. My third visit - so must be doing something right. A small country house hotel with very helpful staff. Quiet, unassuming and attentive staff - the hotel is comfortable with itself and its guests - it knows what... More

We're lucky enough to live just over an hours drive from Hambleton Hall. For the last 20+ years, since "discovering" our love of food, wine and fantastic service, we've been devotees of Hambleton Hall. We've been countless times for dinner, lunch, and whenever we can justify it (and that doesn't take much) we've stayed overnight. So, having stayed in just... More

We stayed for two nights in early June but only dined on the Saturday as it was a Birthday celebration with guests. We had the Lotus room which has lake views which are fabulous. If you go, ask for a "room with a view" - it's worth the extra. The room was spacious with all the usual Relais and Chateaux... More

We spent 2 nights with friends at Hambleton hall and what an experience English hospitality, French food and world wide selection of wine. The accommodation and public areas are luxurious and tastefully period decorated. The gardens and grounds are manicured to perfection and reflect the care taken by all the staff at Hambleton. Heated garden pool was a great. Chris... More

"Fay ce que Voudras" it said over the door. Whatever. This Hunting Box had obviously been built with pleasure in mind. Once inside we were well welcomed, very well roomed and exceptionally well fed. Hambleton turned out to be the best kind of Relais & Chateau hotel - pricey, yes - but not up itself. The exceptional Langhe wine we... More

Staying at Hambleton Hall was a real treat. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. Our bedroom was overlooking the garden and was beautifully decorated with traditional English Chintz soft furnishings and wall paper. The gardens are gorgeous, a drink on the terrace in the early evening overlooking Rutland Water its not to be missed. They accommodate dogs and our... More

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights for our 20th anniversary. if you looking for a cheap stay this is not for you. The whole experience was the best small hotel and restuarant event I have every enjoyed. The moment we arrived and were met by the canadian butler to the painless checkin experience. The room was beautiful but... More

Weekend luxery for a celebration. Outstanding, kind service. Wonderful exciting food. Excellent room overlooking beautiful gardens and Rutland Water. Wines and cocktails are very good served with a selection of unusal canapes. Nothing to complain about, everyting to praise.

We recently had lunch at the restaurant with friends and were disappointed with the quality of the food, especially when you consider the cost of the set price menu. Service was excellent but I object to restaurants billing me a "discretionary service" charge of 12.5%.

Where to start? Even on a bank holiday with an influx of day trippers to the area this was still a pleasure. E were shown to the terrace and had a couple of unhurried glasses of champagne and fabulous canapes. We were invited to move through to the restaurant at out leisure and had a table in a bay window... More
